Writer/Director Nelson Carvajal gave each of the characters fleshed out backgrounds, all of which weren't articulated in his original screenplay. The actors were informed on the backgrounds on motivations. He wanted the actors to know where each role was coming from but wanted that same information obfuscated from the audience so that they would have an uneasy feeling while watching the short. In fact, most of the characters' names aren't even mentioned in any of the dialogue.
The film was shot in two six hour days. The two main groups of actors (the couple and the trio from the car) shot their scenes on different days. In fact, the crucial scene where the Seth character is looking at the Nadine character from across the street, also wasn't filmed on the same day.
