I enjoyed this episode because it brought to light a problem for certain children: stuttering. Jamie is assigned to help Paula, a girl in his class who stutters and is self-conscious about it. Helping Paula is not an easy task, so they need someone with the "patience of Job": Vicki. I also enjoyed the bits where Vicki helps out and her usual funny bits. As a former education major, I see the value of using this episode in either an elementary or college classroom since the concepts of aversion therapy and desensitization are explored. Exceptional children are not viewed the same way as they were when this episode aired in 1986. This is one of the episodes that makes Small Wonder a memorable show.
