The program begins with a production number by the Redettes. Red does a brief skit during the opening monologue as tipsy Willie Lump Lump. Vocalist Ella Logan sings two songs during the show: "Look to the Rainbow" and "Laugh, Clown, Laugh." Red provides the voice twice during this episode of a Red Skelton marionette. The main sketch, titled "What Does Down, Must Come Up" features Clem Kadiddlehopper, who gets bamboozled into purchasing a gas station, soon to be out of business due to a new road coming through.
