Cannes: Sergio Castellitto’s ‘You Can’t Save Yourself Alone’ Leads Beta Cinema Cannes Slate

Rome – Italian actor-director Sergio Castellitto’s romantic drama “You Can’t Save Yourself Alone,” toplining Italo A-listers Riccardo Scamarcio and Jasmine Trinca as a divorced couple reflecting on their rapport gone wrong over dinner, will lead German sales company Beta Cinema’s lineup at the upcoming Marche du Film in Cannes.

Based on an Italian bestseller by Margaret Mazzantini, who is Castellitto’s wife, Castellitto’s latest follows previous dramas, “Don’t Move” and “Twice Born,” both starring Penelope Cruz and also based on Mazzantini novels.

Produced by Italy’s Wildside and Indiana shingles in collaboration with Rai Cinema, “Can’t Save Yourself” has performed well at the Italian box office, where it has pulled almost $4 million via Universal since its March release during a tough time faced by Italian movies with their home audience.

Beta Cinema in Cannes will also show prospective buyers a promo reel for Emma Watson »
