A perfect way to begin the finale and the smoothest editing ever, 16 May 2009

How the hell will Michael do this time to save the day ? That's the question that haunted millions of fans around the world after watching the previous episode. Of course this one began to answer the question and it was really interesting to see our favorite breaker struggling. Moreover as expected he teamed up with Mahone but as usual things didn't go as planned and many twisted events occurred. The decisions they had to make reminded of Batman Foverer when the dark knight got trapped by Riddler, asking him to choose between Robin and Chase. Beside that thrilling story the direction felt really solid and all characters had the scenes they deserved. The true nature of the mother was revealed during a conversation with Lincoln. The actress overall performance is quite good and in this episode she managed to confirm her talent. It's fascinating to see how her profile contrasts with her clothing line, looking as innocent and pure as a white dove. Sara also got the honor of hearing T-Bag's thoughts on life and love. Of course it was both disturbing and funny but the greatest thing was that the writer referenced past events that should appeal to long time fans. Some minutes were also dedicated to covering the Self arc but it was only a minor one compared to the others. Last but not least beside the usual McGyver voodoo, which was really welcome this time and not over the top, there were some major changes in the casting. An other reason for the fans not to miss this great first part of the finale.

Lincoln tells Michael that Sara is pregnant but he schedules a meeting
with Christina in a shipyard; he prepares a bomb trying to lure her,
but she escapes alive. Then Mahone calls her and tells that he has
Scylla and he demands protection for Pam and Lincoln alive for Scylla.
However he brings a device ready to explode. Michael lures General
Krantz and rescues Sara. Self awakes in the hospital and he is
interrogated by the Security Government agents and he proposes a deal
with the Attorney General. C-Note meets Sucre and tells that the
mysterious Paul proposes clean record for them per Scylla. They travel
to Miami trying to reach Michael and his team.
In this episode, there are many twists and I confess that I am tired of
this cat-and-mouse situation. Out of the blue, Sucre and C-Note return
to the show with the support of the mysterious "Paul". My vote is
seven.

First episode of two-part finale that will air in the same day. This
really was a great episode, maybe one of the best of this whole season,
and that's obviously the advantage of these kind of shows like 'Prison
Break' or '24', action series always had best finale, that was the main
thing everybody watched the show, no "monsters of the week" or case by
case stuff in this show, just a single story and plot which can
sometimes divide into several different stories divided by different
characters in this show.
I never exactly knew what to expect from this finale of not only the
fourth season but also the finale of the whole show, yes this is the
last season unfortunately, but then again maybe it's the best to make
it that way because four seasons of a show that's about jail-breaking
and freedom chasing is more than enough, everything over it would be
exaggerating (some people think season three was already over the top).
As Self somehow survived that fall into the sea but got broken leg out
of it, he is transfered to the hospital where he is being interrogated
by two FBI agents who want him to get them Scofield and Burrows (and
that's getting' a bit old already from season two, all the time we hear
that sentence: "Get me Scofield and Burrows."). As we saw in previous
episode Michael is put to the biggest test yet, save Linc, save Sarah
or save the world? And of course he wants to save everyone so he makes
his cunning plan. Mahone wants to save his wife who is also a general's
target that seems to be a bit "bad dude" in this episode than he was in
few last, i really thought he is the guy who keeps his end of the deal
unlike Scofield's mother, but it seems that his character just changed
to where it was in season two.
And this first part of the finale maybe used bigger part of the "finale
cake" than it should, because almost everything is prepared for final
action that shouldn't be 40 minutes long, so i don't know which things
will they put in last episode of the show, maybe half-episode of
conclusion and then second half-episode of "life after" or something
like that, anyway it could definitely be interesting and the series
could take a final 180 degrees turn on the very end.
