Scooby-Doo: Unmasking the Mystery (2002)

*** (out of 4)

This 22 minute featurette is actually much better than the movie, although I'm not sure how much that is actually saying. All of the cast members are joined by the director, producers and other personnel as they discuss the 2002 version of SCOOBY-DOO. For the most part this is a good look at the making of the picture and it's certainly interesting hearing from the producers and their ideas on remaking an animated series. The cast members are all good as well as they discuss the difficulties of trying to play some beloved characters and knowing people are going to have expectations going into the film. Of course, leave it to Freddie Prinze, Jr. to say they were going to make something great even better (not even close). Overall fans of the film should enjoy this promotional piece.
