Goodbye to Boycie and Marlene
17 February 2017 | by (United Kingdom) – See all my reviews

With the Driscoll Brothers part of the premise used up oddly at the end of series 2 and with the quality of writing dipping (due to John Sullivan not writing as many of them) it felt right that this spin-off from 'Only Fools' ended here.

Unwittingly this episode actually works as a decent finale, with Boycie and Marlene renewing their marriage vows.

I wouldn't say it's a particularly strong episode, with lots of scenes that are nearly funny rather than funny, but as a way of saying farewell to two loved sitcom characters it's not bad.

I know John Sullivan said that he would have liked to have done one more series, but I think it has run its course by this point.
