Solid episode, and a new face.

A student with very strong views on banning the bomb is killed, Will and Geordie are on the case.

Last week's episode blew me away, I hoped for more of that, sadly we didn't reach those heights here, this was a solid episode, with a decent storyline, and some decent characters.

More conflict and angst between Geordie and Will, this felt a little more organic and real than the last time, where it felt a little forced, out of sorts so to speak.

Henry Jones, I liked him, he's an interesting person, even if he is a bit devious. Good acting though, I enjoyed his scenes with Mrs Maguire, I am thoroughly missing Leonard though, he's going to be a tough act to follow. Is he going to be a direct Leonard replacement?

Leonard looked so sad.

7/10.

Will at Loose Ends
Hitchcoc8 November 2021
Will and Geordie are a bit at odds. The lawyer who was in Burma with Geordie, John, is back. There is some dark secret they share. The plot involve a group protesting nuclear weapons. Their leader, a beautiful young woman, is murdered. But they carry on. A new guy come to replace Leonard. We don't know if he is a spy or just doing his job. Will starts using bad judgment, including having a night out with his stepsister (no real blood relation). He finally gets up the courage to see Leonard in prison.

Episode 6.6

When a CND activist falls to her death from a college building. Will and Geordie find out that she might have been stabbed before her fall.

It leads them to investigate the dead girl's fellow students. There might have been rivalry to be leader of the CND group.

Meanwhile Will has to contend with a new curate forced upon him. Henry Jones who is of Nigerian extraction.

I thought this episode was a clunker. It as also dull.

Once again the series needs to have Will and Geordie at loggerheads for the flimsiest of reasons. Progressives against regressives.

There are mundane arguments relating to nuclear disarmament. This was a time when even someone like Geordie would be horrified about the impact of nuclear weapons.

I thought Geordie would be more concerned that a young Newcastle supporter had been murdered.

The new curate story was bluntly dealt with. Will is absent and now many of the people who showed enlightened attitudes towards a gay curate will display the opposite to the black curate.
