Lifestyle changes abound as Aaron, a Black American journalist, gets more than he bargained for when he is captivated by Xiao-mei, a beautiful Chinese choreographer. Despite a physical confrontation with Da-wen, Xiao-mei's hotheaded brother, Aaron and Xiao-mei continue their courtship. In accepting different customs and cultures, they prove the old adage 'men are men and women are women' is universally genuine.
