Warning: Spoilers
The previous episode of Harper's Island ended with quite a shocker as Daddy Warbucks himself, Mr. Wellington took it to the face thanks to a blade let loose from a chandelier when triggered at just the right moment! The floor design did show where all would be standing at the wedding rehearsal so this kill was planned in advance. Whatever wedding there was planned for Harper's Island is probably most certainly canceled. Family and friends in attendance were stunned to silence, to say the least. John Wakefield's handiwork, highly recognized, is always mentioned when each body (one by one) is found in a state of "disarray" (pieces, butchered, however you want to describe the bloodshed). Trish's emotions are in shambles and everyone's a suspect. But JD is the chief suspect as the girl was found hanging not long after they had sex and he conveniently found Uncle Marty's body (I mention this more in just a bit). JD is rightfully afraid he will be considered the top suspect and tells Abby that he believes he saw Wakefield. Trish, full of conflicting emotions, so angry at her brother-in-law Richard that in front of his wife and child, calls him out for cheating with Mrs. Wellington! A body cut in two is discovered to be Uncle Marty by JD and Abby, only further complicating things. Then you have JD motivating Henry and Abby to dig up Wakefield's grave to see if he really is dead, another victim is slain (impaled by a harpoon blade!; a nasty bit of business), and Madison is as weird as ever.

Richard is obviously a suspect because he was sleeping with Katherine Wellington while married to stepdaughter Shea and hated the victim. Richard desired to run Wellington's business, hoping to humiliate him through the affair. This is a slasher series so the most obvious suspect or suspects (case in point, JD and Richard) are usually red herrings (their fates often determining this), too easily suspicious to be likely of the crimes. Sheriff Charlie tries to determine who would have had time and motive to kill Wellington before the rehearsal. Richard says he was with Madison, but this could or could not be true as she will establish to Mommy and Trish. Abby wants others to know that her father suspects a Wakefield copycat, showing the attic with all the clippings and photographs accumulated to Henry and JD. So what is next? Will all on the island be allowed to just go home, with JD arrested for a crime he didn't commit? At the end, JD finds refuge in the cabin of the facially scarred mystery man…what connection do these two have? The subplot with Cal losing his engagement ring meant for Chloe, found by a local barfly, giving it to an on-again/off-again girlfriend, with an attempt to retrieve it was nothing of value to me personally, and it moves directly away from the slasher plot that truly entertains me (I guess some might consider it a bit of character development, but I don't care for either one that much to be honest).
