- When Alex discovers that Zoe's only a minor player in her ballet recital, Zoe wants to pull out altogether. Unknown to Zoe, Alex lends her magic ballet shoes, and keeping the situation a secret from their parents, encourages Zoe not to give up.
- Zoe has been bragging she's got the lead role in her upcoming recital, a ballet version of 'Alice in Wonderland'. But when Alex has to hand-deliver her misdirected costume to the rehearsal, she finds out that Zoe is only a minor player - the Dormouse. When Zoe plays sick to avoid her performance, Alex speaks to her and discovers some unexpected truths. Ashamed, Zoe intends to pull out of ballet and run away. Alex convinces her not to give up. She locates her old ballet shoes and endues them with magic - unknown to Zoe - giving them to her to use. With Amanda, Alex then helps keep the situation a secret from their parents and gets Zoe to complete her role as the Dormouse in the recital. It's a surprising performance. Meanwhile J.B. finds out exactly how much one of Kuru's gold coins is worth.
