An entertaining crossover OVA
13 October 2009 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

I did some browsing on Anime News Network, and I discovered that a Tatsunoko crossover was available to own on DVD in America. So I immediately order it and watched the whole thing in one day.

Time Bokan is also the name of a popular Japanese anime that spawn into several spin-offs. In the first episode of this OVA, we see each of the villain trios from each Time Bokan series competing in a race where the winner gets to be the main villains of the OVA. While the second OVA contains cameos of various Tatsunoko characters.

One of the things I loved about this OVA is that it features almost every single character created by Tatsuo Yoshida who was one of the founding fathers of the Tatsunoko company. And a lot he created were the dominating anime of the 70s.

Anyways I highly recommend this OVA to those who like the Tatsunoko anime or like an anime that contains a whole gathering of old school anime characters. However just a reminder that this OVA is only funny if you know the characters that appear in it.
