A voice from the future tells Alex she must fight post-op infection, which she interprets as Summers. Hunt's grass 'Rock Salmon' Doyle is murdered after divulging an upcoming heist, which Alex realizes is Operation Rose, in which corrupt cops will rob a bullion van. She even pinpoints where the crime will take place, correctly leading to successful arrests and several deaths, including Summers. And so she wakes up in hospital in her own time, free at last... except for an annoying face which crops up on her television screen. Written by don @ minifie-1

Did You Know?

When Ray Carling is observing the blue van driving out of the yard and saying, "The bricks are in the van," the camera turns and follows the van up the street. As it does this, there is a dark green Rover 600 series car in the corner of the screen. These were made from 1993-1999 and this particular car is an 'N' registration, registered 1995-1996. A totally superb series finale
10 August 2015 | by (Swansea, United Kingdom) – See all my reviews

....and the surrealism continues, back to the 80's caricature to open the episode, this time it's Jackanory, with Gene Hunt in the chair with the book, I found the penultimate episode of this series rather weak, so there are big hopes for the finale. It is a definite return to form, good old fashioned dark humour, Ray gets more then he bargained for when he starts munching on a battered sausage. Alex finally reveals her circumstances to Gene, naturally he thinks she's inventing an insane story, for the first time we get multiple conflicts between the team. A member of the team uncovers a hit, and the team have to take on a team of bent coppers. A fantastic ending with lots of twists and turns, this is a wonderful finale, best episode for a while. And the best scene belongs to Shaz. Overall a very good second series, a few dips, but the top class episodes more then compensate. Here's to Series 3.
