A Russian gang operating in Leeds with no respect for the laws of England, traffic Eastern Europeans in containers then enslave them, the women to sex, the men to illegal fights. They cross local businessman Gabe Taylor and a war escalates, but when his daughter is taken to be sold into the sex trade, Gabe fights back. Written by
Stuart St Paul
Whilst not a big budget production like TAKEN it is in the same genre and equally as tense and gripping. Danny Midwinter is superb and is certainly in the grass roots of the current British film industry pushing up beneath the likes of Liam Neeson.A star in the wings! The direction of Stuart St Paul shines the light, subtly onto all the right areas bringing the issues into sharp focus and daring you to forget what's going on in the real world once you step back into it. If a film engages it's done its job...if a film engages and entertains it's a bonus...if a film engages, entertains and sets you thinking...well that's Freight. You MUST see Freight. People trafficking is not pleasant but sometimes you need these experiences to give you a jolt!
