Undead School Girls, Part 2, 14 July 2011
Author: Silas Austin from United States

Corpse Princess' second season is no different from the first one, when it comes to animation, dubbing and so on. So I'll do this one quick.

Six months after the ending of season one, our hero Ouri has gone to be trained as a monk and Makina is being kept under close watch by the monks. They soon regroup and continue the mayhem. It starts out like a bad buddy cop story between Ouri and Makina but turns to a more trusting partnership towards the finale. A lot of stuff is reveled and the tension runs high. This time around its a we bit more bleak but theirs more comic relief so it evens out. I will say this, if you haven't seen the first season you'll be more lost than a pothead at a D.A.R.E convention, so turn back and watch it.

We don't get many new characters with the new season, but quite a lot of character development that was well executed. Our new roster consist of a Shikabane Hime named Flesh Backbone(the only name I know of that could be both a death metal stage name and a porno persona) and her contracted monk Kanechika Umehara. They don't have a lot of screen time but between Flesh's uncaring attitude and Umehara's over-sexed one, they bring some comical moments.

This season suffers from the same problems as the last season but not as much. The only real faults I could find was how one character gets hurt and their fate is explained off screen, to witch the other characters kinda fail to care. Another one is that the season has 13 episodes but the last one has nothing to do with the previous one that ended with a cliff hanger. Instead it goes back to season one and features characters that are long gone. The series is incomplete so some will find this a turn off. But considering that the books are still going and DVD sells were decent(especially considering that the show came be viewed for free),the chance of another season is fairly good.

All in all its a good continuation. But after growing close to the characters and being left in the dark about what happened to them some will turn away. Animation and sound are the same and they still say Shikabane a lot(one character says it three times in ten seconds)so the drinking game continues as well. With all its short comings I will still recommend it and advice people to give it a try. Just hope for a new season.
