Trivia

The show is named after the song "Eastbound & Down" by Jerry Reed. The show's creators initially weren't sure if they could keep this as the title without getting sued. See more »

Goofs

The first scene starts at game 7 of the World Series and begins by showing an aerial shot of Oriole Park at Camden Yards (home of the Baltimore Orioles). It is the bottom of the 9th inning, also indicating that Baltimore is the home team. However, Atlanta is wearing home whites while Baltimore is wearing road grays. Field level shots are also clearly not Oriole Park. See more »

Quotes

[first lines]
Kenny Powers: When my ass was 19 years old, I changed the face of professional baseball. I was handed the keys to the kingdom, multi-million dollar deals, endorsements. Everyone wanted a piece of my shit. Just a man with a mind for victory and an arm like a fucking cannon. But sometimes when you bring the thunder, you get lost in the storm.
