I have seldom come accross a movie that I feel so strongly about within the first 10 minutes...and I couldn't bring myself to watch more than that!

From the outset, the acting, and by that, the direction, is appaling. The cinematography is appaling. The sound engineering is appaling.

I'm always willing to give a low-budget movie a chance, but this one was wholly undeserving.

I do not recommend it at all.

Actual film or parody? A waste of time for sure.

From the script and acting, it seems more of a parody than an actual attempt at horror film. Just a giant waste of time, I was more perplexed at the horrible writing, acting and direction than scared while watching this film, its imdb rating fooled me, how it managed to score above 1 is beyond me. Not much of a spoiler but there is a whole sequence of the lead protagonist walking through the town, which serves no purpose at all towards the film story, just a filler scene with no purpose and the film is full of stupidity like that.

Did their friends rate the movie? It isn't close to even a 3

It's a low budget movie and I don't mind watching them. There are many low budget movies that are great.

This though........ The acting isn't quite there. The effects, script etc just FEELS cheap.

Found their Facebook posts about their trailer. A few excited people. Going to guess they're the ones who rated this.

Poe execution what could be a good thriller

Ok, so you you inherit a house in nowhere. That is actually is good shape. Then you start poking around and are noticed by the locals. All civil and like. Nice people, right?

Uh huh. Then, well, all hell breaks loose.

If you can put on your imagination caps and filter out the bad scripting, acting, directing, cinematography, etc. You can still get a descent nightmare out of it.

You know, some people do great things. They invent things that help their fellow man. They write words of sheer beauty that move people to tears or songs that people have in their weddings or teach people things that change the world.

I watch Amityville movies and write about them.

Such is my albatross.

Stanley DeFeo has come back to Amityville and there's this whole story of his parents coming there to run a bank and his mom fell for a dude named Asmodeus because you know, it was the sixties. But now there's a cult in town and our hero is doomed.

Except it's in Amityville, Texas.

Let's have that sink in.

Birthright: An Amityville Horror was the original title and this cost less than a used car and has a scene where a lawyer agrees to a meeting within minutes, not months, so it's also science fiction. This is also known as Amityville Secret.

So yeah. Our hero comes home -- don't do that -- reads his mother's diary -- don't do that -- tracks down his father -- don't do that -- and tries to set things right -- don't do that -- and then a bunch of hooded robed people end up on his porch, which is pretty awesome and I wish they would come over here and party with me because I'm kind of lonely tonight.

At one point, a character talks about getting to dance with the devil and I thought about that and kind of wished that this movie was about a woman finding her groove in the late sixties and escaping her boring husband through Satan, but that would be probably something only I'd want to see and not something that would fool you by being a new Amityville movie on the shelves at Walmart and the digital racks of Amazon Prime and Tubi.

I almost wrote, "You could have put a legit turd into my DVD case and I would have enjoyed it more," but that just seems mean.

there is some efford but ..

I give it 3/10 because it is obvious they have put quite some efford in making this movie. But it felt like going for 3 hours. It is not a slow burner , but it just felt long.

Script and plot are ok. Not overly complex, but there is the efford right there. They tried to make a story out of it. So in that regard it is no worse than some of the bigger budget old sequels. While the story is predictable, they even managed to deliver 1-2 tiny twists, and not cliché ending.

Acting is mediocre, but not terrible. I've seen worse (and i've seen worse in big classics.. yeah i know, i'll get thumbs down for talking bad about the nostalgic movies , whatever). While being mediocre, again they did put some efford. It is not amateur joke level as some of the Amityville movies we have recently lol.

CGI is bad but it's not very often so it doesnt strike you in the face :D Cinematography is below mediocre, at times even bad.

Overall, it's not the worst movie i've seen, watchable, but barely :D if that was popular movie or bigger budget movie, i'd give it 2/10 or even 1/10 .

Just a very, very bad movie.

I can not believe actors that can act is so expensive you take the first ones who audition, but it seems like it.

I usually give B-horror some chances. Thinking about budget etc I don't expect much, but this is just bad through and through. The plot is ok. It could have been good. The main character is among the worst actors I have seen. He was one of those read from the script actors. The others did not blow my mind either. They are in the right category with the B flick, but of course there's always room for improvement.

I will not recommend this at all. The good grades have to be from people who knows the writer/director or some of the actors. No one with an eye for quality will give this move a good grade.

Good for low budget horror

I watched the film after having seen the budget. It's pretty good considering they made it on nothing at all really. I went into it expecting much worst considering.

Shot rather well for a lower budget film, the cast brings out a more quality on tone than many larger budget films. It's just nice to see something surprisingly worth watching from time to time.

We watched this on Tubi. Film isnt masterpiece but it has its entertaining moments. Ive seen better but Ive also seen a lot worse. Good acting and storyline.

Awesome movie! Had a moment to sit down and watch it. The characters are believable and the storyline is well written. I don't really do scary movies due to always knowing what happens before it gets to the end. This movie actually had me on the edge of my seat throughout.
