Ralph Fiennes to Direct, David Hare to Write Biopic of Ballet Dancer Rudolf Nureyev

Ralph Fiennes will direct The White Crow, a biographical drama about Russian dancer Rudolf Nureyev.

The new project by Fiennes, whose previous directorial efforts are Coriolanus and The Invisible Woman, will be based on Julie Kavanagh's book Rudolf Nureyev: The Life.

David Hare, nominated for Oscars in the best screenplay category for The Hours and The Reader, will write the script.

The White Crow is being developed by the BBC Films and produced by Oscar-nominated Gabrielle Tana through Magnolia Mae Productions, with Francois Ivernel through the French branch of his company Montebello Productions.

Enter Wakanda in New Black Panther Concept Art

Wakanda is a wonderful new location in the McU that will be fully explored in the upcoming standalone Black Panther movie. Today, we get to go further inside this African city with never-before-seen concept art from Marvel Phase 3. The art arrives with the Blu-ray and DVD release of Doctor Strange, which hits stores on February 28, but is now available on VOD and streaming rental services.

The Doctor Strange home video release contains a special featurette video that looks at the entirety of Marvel Phase 3 and what is planned in the coming years. That includes the exciting release of Black Panther. Disney has quite a few surprises in store for Marvel fans heading through the rest of this decade. And as you can see in the art included below, that includes an extensive trip to the wonderful world of Wakanada.

Like many of Marvel Studio’s superheroes, Black Panther is one that could have been ruined by his execution in Captain America: Civil War. To get audiences to respond to a man who dressed up as — and fights like — a cat was bound to be difficult in a world that hops between sci-fi and grounded hyper-realism. Would Black Panther come across as intended, or would he look silly and campy in this universe of high-tech supers?

The result was a joy to watch. His fighting style was vicious, his costume amazingly faithful — and yet very practical. Better still was the character arc they managed to put in that film. On the heels of his father’s death, T’Challa was hell-bent on getting revenge. It was only after seeing the Avengers get torn apart that he realized the errors of his thinking.

Marvel’s Black Panther has officially started shooting, so reports the studio, who today have released the official synopsis for the film, and the full cast list.

Take a look at this:

Black Panther follows T’Challa who, after the events of Captain America: Civil War, returns home to the isolated, technologically advanced African nation of Wakanda to take his place as King. However, when an old enemy reappears on the radar, T’Challa’s mettle as King and Black Panther is tested when he is drawn into a conflict that puts the entire fate of Wakanda and the world at risk.

He was a breakout character in Captain America Civil War, and now the King of Wakanda has his own film in production, along with a full cast list, and brand new synopsis.

Ant-Man, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2, The Hunger Games, the most recent installments of Fast & Furious franchise, Spider-Man Homecoming, and the Hulk Hogan classic, No Holds Barred. What do all these films have in common? They were all shot in the Atlanta Pinewood Studios. And now the newest Marvel Cinematic Universe joins the ranks. Black Panther has started up production in Atlanta.

Marvel has announced via press release that they have begun production on their next standalone superhero film.
