Introduction of Featherweights and Bantamweights to USA
28 January 2012 | by (St. Louis, MO) – See all my reviews

When the World Extreme Cagefighting was alive and kicking ass as a part of Zuffa airing on the VERSUS network it was impossible to tune into one of their events and not getting a kick ass night of fights.

The best part of the WEC fight promotion was the introduction of the Featherweight(145 lbs.) and Bantamweight(135 lbs.) divisions to an American audience.

The fast paced action and higher technical proficiency in the lower weight classes is a purely beautiful thing to behold.

The WEC also had other weight divisions that the UFC also had and had a few good fighters in those divisions also. The stars of the WEC was a fairly impressive roster of talent with the likes of Urijah Faber, Jose Aldo, Dominick Cruz, Brian Bowles, Miguel Torres, Damacio Page, Donald Cerrone, Benson Henderson, Carlos Condit, Brian Stann, Chad Mendes, Demetrious Johnson, Johny Hendricks, Anthony Pettis, Scott Jorgensen and much more.
