New Orleans Saints win on the most watched program ever! Super Bowl XLIV, 9 February 2010
Author: tavm from Baton Rouge, La.

Looks like I'm the first one to review what is now the most watched TV program ever! (Sorry, M*A*S*H series finale.) Having read about the Saints nearly unbroken season-having lost only the last three regular season games-and watched the last few minutes of the final playoff game in the store where I worked at (actually, I watched the replay since I heard some cheers when it actually occurred) when Garrett Hartley kicked that overtime field goal that ensured his New Orleans team got to the Super Bowl, I was so stoked to watch that game I DVRed it since I had to work at that store again (This time, since it was on CBS and not Fox, they couldn't get the reception so I ending up listening to some parts in the break room on the radio with it turned up.) For a while, it looked like the Indianapolis Colts with their quarterback Peyton Manning-incidentally, the son of former New Orleans Saints player Archie Manning-would score big as our Crescent City team fumbled in the first quarter. Then, in the beginning of the third quarter, Coach Sean Payton ordered the "Ambush"-that is, the onside kick executed by Chris Reis and Thomas Morestead that threw the Colts' play into chaos-and the Saints were off and running! It wasn't until the fourth quarter with about 4 minutes left that victory was insured for the Louisiana team when a Manning pass was intercepted by Port Allen native Tracy Porter in the most shown replay during the news afterwards, not to mention the last field goal right after. Kudos also to quarterback Drew Brees for all his plays and what a touching moment seeing him with his nearly year-old boy at the end. So now, WHO DAT becomes WE DAT and with the final score being New Orleans Saints 31 to Indianapolis Colts 17, our state's NFL franchise is truly America's Team. Oh, and it was great to see The Who survivors Roger Daltry and Pete Townshend truly rock the halftime stage. Also, what about that promo for "Late Show with David Letterman" which featured Dave, Oprah Winfrey, and...Jay Leno! What a hoot that ad was. So in summation, congrats to the Saints for a great season, we sure did Finish Strong!
