Less than decent start for a wonderful comedy
9 April 2014 | by (United Kingdom) – See all my reviews

I saw the pilot of Parks and Recreation a couple of years ago but never gave much thought to the show until I decided to continue watching the show just this past weekend. The pilot is okay, but that's just it. It never really exceeds "okay" like the rest of the episodes of the show does.

The characters of the show come across as arrogant, unlikeable, and cheaply hacked off from The Office or other shows like it. But that's not necessarily true! (past the first episode that is). The characters grow on you as soon as you go past the pilot. The humour is a lot more genuine past it too.

It's not a bad pilot, but it is a humongous and gross understatement of a more than decent comedy. If you're put off to watching Parks and Rec after this pilot, just know that it gets better than this.
