Valiant and Arn go on a mission led by a reluctant Sir Gawain to meet Sir Percival near an old Roman fortress guarded by a supposedly-mad man after King Arthur receives a warning from him concerning security. Gawain wants to rest and revel with his old friend, forcing Valiant and Arn to take matters into their own hands when one of their men is murdered with a threat against King Arthur. The gatekeeper, Julian, is suspected but escapes prison, and Lord Cynan's men attack. Written by brainybrailler@comcast.net

Trivia

The gatekeeper of the (unnamed) Roman wall is Julian, the fifth member of his family to hold the job. In Hal Foster's comic strip, Valiant and Gawain also journeyed to a wall which was built during the days of the Roman Empire - specifically the famous Hadrian's Wall - and encountered the third-generation guard Julian, who also assisted Valiant in his investigating the source behind unclear reports of danger to Camelot.
