An funny, intelligent short that hides an painful problem behind a smirk and a wink.

Joyia Bradley's short humorously examines the lack of respect given to black women by the world ,regardless of the hardships they've suffered. Avenged by the beautiful and funny heroine known as Black Woman! Black Woman deals with those who disrespect with a serving of major attitude.

The short has a Robert Townsend /Hollywood Shuffle vibe, but with more female focus which is great. Yes, its a little rough and some of the humor is off timing wise , but you can see the faith the cast and crew has in the project. The cast of unknowns put a lot of energy into the short and are deserving of praise . What you see here is fertile ground in which a really good film could grow! It would be very interesting to see this idea fleshed out with a larger budget and maybe a comedy writer assisting Ms. Bradley. On the technical side Tawania Pettus's cinematography was tight, always centered and I felt in the middle of every scene. Again, with a bigger budget the end result could've been even more polished than it is now. I would be very interested in what both women will be doing in the future!
