Amy Schumer asks Hollywood 'don't show any more Kevin Hart movies'

24 April 2015 12:32 AM, PDT | Hitfix | See recent Hitfix news »

Las Vegas - CinemaCon wrapped up its fifth year with their version of the Hollywood Film Awards, a fake awards show where the winners were predetermined and picked by studio lobbying and, um, who was available.  This year's winners included Best Actress Oscar champ Julianne Moore, Francis Lawrence, Elizabeth Banks, the cast of the "Fantastic Four," Rose Byrne and Paul Feig (who had his "Spy" actor Bobby Cannavale walk on stage and throw a pie in his face).  The, cough, winners who really stole the show, however, were Amy Schumer, Kevin Hart and Paul Rudd. Because the show isn't broadcast and it's unlikely video will ever be released, what better way to end our CinemaCon coverage with some of the best acceptance speeches of the night.  Let's begin with "Trainwreck" star Schumer who won Breakthrough Performer of the Year and had the funniest overall speech of the night. The critical difference between 'Lip Sync Battle' and 'RuPaul's Drag Race'

22 April 2015 3:20 PM, PDT | Hitfix | See recent Hitfix news »

"Lip Sync Battle," the Spike TV series based on the celebrity lip-sync duels from Jimmy Fallon's "Tonight Show," is officially renewed for a second season. Lip-syncing is always good for a silly viral moment, but let's not forget that there's a semi-serious art to doing it well. And while we're at it, let's point out that "RuPaul's Drag Race" is the real HQ for lip-sync sorcery on cable. The premise of "Lip Sync Battle" is that a bunch of celebrities acting like drunken karaoke acts is a riot. Sometimes the juxtaposition of a movie star and a pop song is very funny: Take, for instance, Paul Rudd's seriously impressive work with Tina Turner's "Better Be Good to Me" on "The Tonight Show." Not only did he memorize Turner's every spastic vocal moment, he also lived up to her grit with an impassioned performance. It was comedy, but »

22 April 2015 8:28 AM, PDT | Digital Spy | See recent Digital Spy - TV news news »

RuPaul's Drag Race is finally returning to the UK.

truTV has brightened our day by announcing that the reality show will kick off its fourth season on June 1.

This is the first time that these episodes have been shown on free to air UK TV - and as if that wasn't enough, each episode will be followed by sister show RuPaul's Drag Race: Untucked.

The show sees legendary star RuPaul Charles guiding a group of hopeful drag queens through the competition, as they face styling, personality and performance challenges in an attempt to win the season.

And to make things even better, the bottom two contestants in each episode lip sync for their lives before RuPaul decides which one of them hasn't made the cut.

RuPaul is joined by judges Michelle Visage - who might just be familiar to Celebrity Big Brother fans - and Santino Rice and Billy B, »

Austin - “People write me letters all the time. I do my best to answer but they think we’re pen pals.” Henry Rollins has a lot to do, y’all, which sometimes makes him "crotchety." The former Black Flag and Rollins Band singer continues to tour with his spoken word material. He has a column in the L.A. Weekly and Rolling Stone Australia, plus his Kcrw radio show and the Henry & Heidi podcast. He’s dropped by for acting cameos on “The Kroll Show,” "RuPaul's Drag Race" and “Adventure Time,” had recurring roles on “The Legend of Korra” and “Sons of Anarchy” and is still out working for his next acting gig. He’s an activist and author and he’s got a three story building just to house all the records he owns. He mostly listens to them all, too. He just probably doesn’t have time »

RuPaul’s Tyra Moment on ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’: ‘F--cking Make It Happen’

RuPaul has had it.

In an episode that had a notable first -- the queens debuted beards on the runway --, RuPaul surprised fans by unleashing a Tyra Banks-like wrath on the contestants up for elimination. Clearly at a breaking point (this early in the season) with the queens, the host was noticeably upset by their lack of effort throughout that week’s episode.

“In seven seasons of doing RuPaul’s Drag Race, I’ve never seen a car crash like this before,” RuPaul says at one point during the show’s main challenge, a Macbeth-inspired acting competition that goes awry when the queens aren’t prepared. But it was on the runway where he spilled all the T.

“You did not know your lines,” RuPaul cutting off contestant Jasmine Masters’ excuse for messing up. After more excuses and a round of the blame game, all »

America’s Next Bearded Lady?

In a RuPaul’s Drag Race first, the queens are tasked with donning beards on the runway. A play on the bearded lady -- a style of drag made popular by Eurovision Song Contest 2014 winner Conchita Wurst -- the challenge is an unexpected move for the show that has increasingly become about serving fish (aka looking as feminine as possible).

News: For 'RuPaul's Drag Race' Mainstream Is Jumping the Shark

While the challenge is a bold move that surely will get fans talking, it’s not the first time a beard has walked the runway. During season six, Milk caused a stir when she sported silver, wizardly facial hair. (Though, the drag queen also donned a pregnancy belly and a Pinocchio nose.) “It’s also about being remembered,” Milk told Out.com about the eccentric looks he wore on the show.
