I IMMEDIATELY thought the exact same thing as @SunnyDallen that this poor girl was 1 of Andrew Luster's victims. It all makes sense. The fact that she lives in St. George,Utah (a landlocked place) & she is shown in previous yrs pix ON THE BEACH (& HE lived in Malibu/Santa Barbara) & the fact that it was a VIDEOTAPED RAPED *(he kept videos of the rapes AS TROPHIES) & she DIDN'T REMEMBER WHAT HAPPENED *(prob due to the GHB)... and then the sister saying "when u got raped in California..." SMH..I just knew.
What a HORRIBLE HORRIBLE thing that has come to pass for this beautiful girl as a result of this man's disgusting, violent, sociopathic actions. I hope that he is rotting in jail & being raped every single day as often as the prisoners can get their hands on him and I hope that no amount of money that he has (being an heir to a huge cosmetic fortune) can buy him protection from the prisoners as punishment for the lives, the souls and the innocence that he has taken from SO MANY PEOPLE.
People that weren't even INVOLVED in these crimes are even affected. Simply HEARING ABOUT IT has changed so many people's lives and how they do things to protect themselves on a daily basis just walking down the street let alone being at a bar with or without trustworthy ppl around them for protection. It's horrible & my heart broke for this girl watching this program. I was elated to hear that she was one of the good/survivor/saved ones after having just watched 2 back to back episodes in which the others weren't so lucky to come out of it on the other end alive.
1 episode featured a gay man who had a drinking problem, had gone to rehab before & it didn't take but reluctantly went again. At the end of the episode, as they do with the updates in sort of a "Where Are They Now?" type of thing, it was revealed that while he WENT to the 90 day rehab & was fine for awhile, he relapsed again (twice) & eventually KILLED HIMSELF leaving behind his family & his partner of almost 20 yrs. They'd been together since he came out at age 19, I think.
The other story was an alcoholic man as well, who'd married his high school sweetheart, had 2 kids & cuz he couldn't "Keep Up w/The Joneses" he turned to booze due to the stress & his marriage & time spent w/his kids went rt down the toilet. 20+ yrs they'd been together & she still loved him, she just didn't LIKE HIM anymore cuz of what the drinking had changed him characteristically INTO. He'd blow off the kids baseball gms off to go to the bar instead. SMH At the intervention his Kids (boy was about 10 or 12, daughter maybe 15?) were screaming, PLEADING, crying, BEGGING for him to go (and eventually he caved. ... despite acting like a horrible, disgusting douchebag in the process.
The sad part of that ep was that although he WENT to rehab & committed to do 90 days there, 80 days into the 90 day treatment he found out that he had esophageal CANCER (often happens with heavy drinkers) & he literally came home, went DIRECTLY into chemo & died 3 WKS LATER. The son was so excited to get his dad back & had said during a heart to heart with the dad that he was mad at him for not coming around & the dad said it was hard for him to come around cuz he was still in love with the mom but acknowledged that he shouldn't hv to be ASKED by the little boy to be a man & come see his son, help him learn to throw a ball, help with his homework, teach bout girls, etc...) it was a really heartfelt moment & then to hv THAT happen...? HEARTBREAKING...ESPECIALLY when it's shown that his parting words were that "at least because he was completing his treatment my dad didn't die an alcoholic...He died a DAD.
I always say that if u need a good cry, watch this show. You won't need to LOOK for the tears because the tears will find YOU.
