Banned in China due to its depiction of criminal activity, depravity, drug use, sex, violence, salty language and general debauchery committed by its main characters.
Premiered at the Hollywood Reel International Film Festival in Beverly Hills February 2016. The film was turned down by writer director Chris O'Neill's hometown of Leeds for its Leeds International Film Festival, whose program that year included many films already widely available on DVD.
Lead actor and producer David Mapother sadly passed away shortly after the premiere.
Martin Landau had been at the screening of the film preceding ABSOLUTE DEBAUCHERY at the Hollywood Reel Independent Film Festival. The crowd fund campaign for writer director Chris O'Neill's next film, the Alfred Hitchcock inspired horror thriller "HEADSHOTS", launched the day Martin Landau passed away. Landau had starred in Hitchcock's NORTH BY NORTHWEST.
