Frame 313: The JFK Assassination Theories (2008)

*** (out of 4)

This documentary gathers up various history experts as they debate five different conspiracy theories about the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. The five topics include: the single gunman theory, the CIA/Mafia connection, the Soviet Union/KBG, hired Mafia hit men and finally Cuban exiles. If you're dead set that there wasn't a conspiracy then it's probably pointless watching this as what's presented here isn't going to change your mind and you're probably just going to grow extremely angry watching these people talk. I personally don't know who killed Kennedy so I enjoy watching documentaries from the viewpoint of saying there aren't any conspiracies as well as documentaries like this one that says the truth is not out there. Although at 114-minutes this does get a bit long winded at times, I still enjoyed it for the most part. I thought the theories that were given here all made you at least think and there were some pretty striking connections that came up and especially in regards to some of the Mafia ones. Again, I'm not going to sit here and say that this film proves anything but I think as entertainment it works. History buffs will probably at least be entertained by the different theories if they're not easily offended by alternate thoughts on the subject.
