The police superintendent, disguised by black suits (IRish), checked that Conan and Shinichi are 98% identical! Conan is getting into danger...! Would that police superintendent tell Gin about this news? Rachel broke Conan's bowl!next day when Rachel went school Serena spoke about the dark knight helmet...Conan went school to hear that his clay dolphin lose its dorsal fin... Would Conan be able to stay alive as Heiji hopes inside phone when talking about "BBQ in Kyoto"? Written by Hecate
Wow, I must say this one really impressed me. After the ninth movie, "Strategies Above the Depths", the series of movies have faltered a bit. This one is excellent, in my opinion. Okay, I know a lot of people were disappointed in this movie, I read something about a "misleading ad campaign" and "nothing really happens". Well, a lot happens in terms of action, but yeah, the ending has everything back to normal with Conan's secret being safe, Gin and the rest of his organization being none the wiser. This is another movie that mixes two stories into one in an elegant fashion. The beginning of the movie made my jaw drop, but seconds later it's perfectly apparent it is in fact a dream sequence. I don't like dream sequences in general, but if the movie had started with this scenario for real, I mean, it just couldn't happen...now, the series is still going strong as far as I know.
Yes, The Black Organization makes an appearance, but they operate in the shadows while the other plot unfolds, this is really effective, the mood, especially the music hints at impending doom, Haibara's outburst of rage, warning Conan to stay back, this felt like it would get real serious. I guess that's the main thing people have against this movie, it builds up this great tension to a brilliant climax where a member of the organization learns that Conan IS Shinichi and then....nothing really dramatic happens that will affect the rest of the series in any way. Okay, I understand that people felt a bit cheated in a way, and maybe I would've felt that way too had I payed attention to all the commercials and listened to the hype. I read beforehand that it was fairly lousy, and I saw one of my favorite Detective Conan movies.
The movie perfectly switches between suspense, action and lighthearted comedy. The kids are again, really charming, I loved "The Beatles" gag. But the intensity of the climax is really something and the action in the tower is awesome. It's always nice to see Ran kick butt. The main mystery Conan tries to solve isn't among the top cases we've seen, but the Black Organization's involvement in the story really elevates it This is the highest grossing film in the franchise, so I'm sure they'll keep making many more. I only hope Movie 14 is half as good as this one, though I am pretty sure it isn't.
