Writer-director, avid Twitter-er and curse-word enthusiast Kevin Smith has announced the lead in his upcoming hockey flick Hit Somebody. Twenty-two year-old Nicholas Braun, whose previous credits include Sky High, "10 Things I Hate About You," and "Poor Paul" will be entering the View Askewniverse as a hockey super-fan named Buddy McKraken who gets a shot at playing professionally - just not in the way he dreamed.

"Because every hockey player, every kid dreams of scoring goals, taking it to the net, you’re the hero and s**t," Smith explained on his podcast. "No one dreams about 'I’m the dude who f******g hits the guy so that the kid over there can take the puck to the net.' And the glory goes to that guy." »
