A strong middle episode.

Renard has to deal with the arrival of a drunken German Bishop, and has to bring sucker to the locals, after a young, Madagascan soldier is mercilessly shot dead.

One word sums up this whole episode, politics. It shows the troubled lives of the locals, as they struggle to integrate with their German invaders, we see love, hatred, business, and of course survival.

We see human nature displayed in all its glory, the thirst for power, what people must have felt seeing those around them collaborating, it must have been utterly sickening.

The Bishop could have very easily stepped off the set of Father Ted. His character was fascinating, it was intriguing to know where his morals were.

Possibly the least absorbing episode so far, but still a very high standard. The story has developed well, and I hope for a strong finale. The story of the boy with the loaf of bread was the best element, shocking, so sad.

Very good, 8/10.
