Armageddon 2008 was a great PPV and a nice way for WWE to wrap up 2008. Some of the matches were a little better than I thought they would be and overall the PPV was entertaining.

1.Matt Hardy vs. Vladimir Kozlov Congratulations Matt Hardy on carrying Kozlov to his best match so far in WWE. Kozlov was able to mix up his power moves more than he did against Triple H this time around, and Hardy's quickness in the ring helped keep the match interesting. Eventually Kozlov wins by hitting his headbutt and spinebuster in a weak ending, but Hardy at least got an okay match out of him. Not bad. 5/10.

2.CM Punk vs. Rey Mysterio This match was very good, fast-paced, and entertaining. Both men hit a ton of high flying moves and there were several reversals. Rey got a 619 at one point but failed to get the springboard splash. Rey had this nice spot where he goes for a hurricanrama but as he hits it locks Punk in an armbar. Both men blocked each other's finishers a bunch of times. Eventually Punk hits a GTS for the win and will receive an Intercontinental Championship match with Regal. Great match. 7.5/10.

3.Belfast Brawl: Finlay vs. Mark Henry This was a decent match, and as I expected the hardcore stipulation helped it from becoming a travesty. Finlay brought out a bunch of kendo sticks and trash cans. Henry was able to hit Finlay in the head with a lid and squish a trash can against Finlay's head in the corner. Finlay tried to use the shillelagh, but Henry took it and broke it in half along with a kendo stick. Finlay eventually makes a comeback with kendo stick and trash can shots before finishing Henry off with a shillelagh shot. Okay match. 5.5/10

4.Batista vs. Randy Orton This match completely surprised me. I thought it would be good, but not this great. Early on Cody Rhodes and Manu are ejected from ringside after the ref sees them beating on Batista. Batista hits a few power moves early on before Orton takes control. Orton uses chinlocks to wear down Batista before attempting an RKO. Batista counters and gets an edge. He eventually nails the Batista Bomb for a win. Very good match. 8/10.

5.8-Diva Santa's Little Helper Match: This was the card's only weak point. Clearly just a filler before the main events, the crowd chanted boring at this uneventful match. The Divas all get into a catfight before Michelle hits a Styles Clash on Jillian for the win. Afterwards Khali comes out for the kiss cam with Mae Young. That was more entertaining than the match. 2/10.

6.World Heavyweight Championship: John Cena(c) vs. Chris Jericho Cena and Jericho were able to make this a better bout than their clash at Survivor Series, despite the fact that they were not given as much time. This match moved at a better pace. Early on Cena goes for an FU on the apron but Jericho counters with a running bulldog onto the steel steps. In the ring, Jericho nails a codebreaker and Cena hits an FU but neither capitalizes. Cena eventually gets out of the Walls of Jericho and traps Jericho in the STFU, forcing him to tap out. Good match. 7/10.

7.WWE Championship: Edge(c) vs. Triple H vs. Jeff Hardy Wow. This match completely blew me away with the intensity. Maybe the reason I wasn't that excited for this one was because we've already seen Hardy and Triple H in the ring several times before. But this match was great. Hardy gets an early advantage, including a whisper in the wind to Edge, while Edge was on Triple H's shoulders. Outside the ring, Triple H tries to Pedigree Hardy through the Raw announcer's table, but Hardy counters and tries for a Twist of Fate. But Triple H gets out of it, and Edge spears Hardy through the Smackdown table. Triple H later hits a Pedigree on Edge, but Kozlov comes out and attacks Triple H. Matt Hardy enters to go after Kozlov and the two brawl to the back. Hardy hits a Twist of Fate and Swanton on Triple H but Edge yanks him out of the ring. Edge spears Triple H, then goes for a Conchairto before Hardy gets Edge in the face with a chair. This thing eventually comes to an end when Triple H hits a Pedigree on Edge, before Hardy comes in with the Swanton on Edge to win the championship! Incredible match, and congratulations to Jeff Hardy. 9/10.

Overall PPV rating: 8/10
