Sarah, John, Cameron, and Derek travel to a remote California town to investigate the mysterious destruction and massacre of the warehouse in which they individually approach various residents to look for a connection to Skynet. Sarah bonds with a widow of a security guard whom was the same one who shot Sarah weeks earlier. John bonds with a teen girl, named Zoe, who's father was one of the victims to get information as to what was going on at the warehouse, and Derek tails a shadowy hit man named Walsh, whom was sent by Catherine, to find one surviving worker who may be a threat to not only her but everyone. Back in Los Angeles at Zeira Corp, while Catherine works to successfully cover her tracks and block Ellison from learning more about her work involving Project Babylon, she also tries to get through to the real Catherine's daughter, Savannah, over the anniversary of her own father's death. Walsh says he was formerly a police officer in Baltimore. For two seasons, Max Perlich was a regular on Homicide: Life on the Streets, a cop show set in Baltimore, although he did not play a police officer. See more »

Cameron Phillips: [about Zoe] She hasn't looked at her father's picture since we've been here - not once. Neither has her mother.
Derek Reese: Yeah, and?
Cameron Phillips: If you had a photo of Kyle Reese, you'd look at it, wouldn't you? - Maybe there's something I don't understand.
John Connor: He's not dead.
Derek Reese: That's a big leap.
John Connor: Lemme repeat what she said: if you had a photo of your brother, would you or would you not look at it?
[Reese turns to observe Zoe and her mother]
Derek Reese: He's not dead.
Cameron Phillips: We should find him before he is.

The Connors go to a funeral
6 February 2013 | by (United Kingdom) – See all my reviews

After the events at the end of the previous episode there were inevitably going to be a lot of funerals so Sarah and her family decide to attend to try to find out what was going on at the warehouse. While there Sarah gets chatting to a widow while John befriends her daughter. They don't appear to know anything although eventually notices something rather strange; the daughter hasn't shed a tear sine they met her; not what you'd expect on the day of her father's funeral. Also there is a man working for Catherine Weaver; she is certain that one of those listed as dead has in fact survived and she wants him found. Back in Los Angeles Ellison learns that it is the anniversary of Catherine's husband's death but she acts perfectly normally; as if it was just another day; until he comments on her behaviour.

This episode may be fairly low on action compared to last week's but it was still enjoyable; there was a mystery about what the family was hiding and the drama of them learning some shocking truths about the man they thought they knew. The scenes at the town dominated the episode however I preferred those in LA as Catherine Weaver is the most interesting character at the moment; we know she is really a machine but her motives remain a mystery. Shirley Manson continues to impress in the role; acting almost human but not quite.
