Bizarro!
Chartreuse128 October 2020
Olivia, a high school cheerleader. finds herself pregnant and is conflicted about keeping the baby and asks the guy who knocked her up to help out. Of course. he tells her to take a hike. Enter Pam, an adoption broker, who she ends up bumping into after leaving an agency. Little does Olivia know that Pam has ulterior motives but she decides to have Pam help her. Huge mistake and Olivia finds out the hard way! Plot was good with a bunch of unknown Canadian actors. It was OK.

Warning: Spoilers
Another lifetime channel movie about a teenage cheerleader who gets pregnant but the teenage dad doesn't want anything to do with the baby so she secretly looks into illegal online adoption and to make matter's worse she doesn't tell her workaholic governor mom she's pregnant.

An actually good "cheerleader" movie!
momontherandom8 December 2020
Most of Lifetime's cheerleader movies are pure garbage. The plot is recycled drivel and the acting is worse than normal. This was a refreshing change! The plot wasn't really that original, but the family dynamic was different. The girl that played the pregnant cheerleader (Jerni) was GREAT! I'm actually bummed to see she isn't set to be in any upcoming movies. I'd like to see her go far in her career.

I had hopes. :(

Warning: Spoilers
Has the movie started I had hopes of it being a decent show. But halfway through when we were supposed to believe that a nine month pregnancy went unnoticed by a mom and a dad and a brother along with every teacher in the school etc. and that her mom would let her daughter go away with a complete and total stranger she's never met before the storyline just fell apart. Really too bad finally it was a lifetime movie with some decent acting but the plot line just fell apart.

Pam's Girls
lavatch21 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Early in "Cheerleader Abduction" (a.k.a., "A Secret to Keep"), the high school cheerleader Olivia Patton confides in confidence about her pregnancy to a woman posing as a counselor. But from the outset, Pam appears as a sinister figure with ominous ulterior motives.

In fact, Pam is a nefarious dealer in human trafficking, a predator of the most despicable variety. Taking advantage of Olivia's vulnerability, Pam has carefully planned to take Olivia to a motel for the delivery, and Olivia will never see her baby again.

On one level, the filmmakers wanted to raise awareness about human trafficking. At the close of the film, the audience learns that 25 million cases have occurred worldwide. And yet, there was levity in the film, especially the melodramatic ending where Olivia's mother Trish engages in an epic fist fight with Pam in the parking lot of the Bluebird Motel.

While it was not clear if the humor of the film's ending was intentional, the performances were uniformly excellent. Trish and Olivia really looked and acted like a mother and daughter. And Olivia's reluctance to confide in her mother was made credible due to the mom's ambitious drive to become governor of Michigan. Still, it was not very believable that Olivia could take her baby to term while continuing to attend school and live at home. It wasn't enough to merely costume Olivia in trench coat for nine months.

By the end, Danforth Central High School will be a better place with Olivia restored in good graces to the cheerleading squad. One of her biggest fans will be a little mugwump brouight to the school by a proud grandmother whose gubernatorial dreams will be boosted due to her heroic stand taken outside the Bluebird Motel.

Excellent LMN Movie
vbacon-111-57832926 December 2020
For now, this gets a 6.5 rating while most LMN movies never get above 6. Indeed, this is one of their best ones.

Jerni Stewart is a new face for LMN movies and she doesn't disappoint. I could easily see her taking on a lot more in the future. She deserves some good roles.

However, I would agree with some others who note that major plot hole that no one has noticed she is pregnant. One could hide a pregnancy for a few months, but for as long as happens in the film.
