I first saw Michael McIntyre on some panel show. I took one look at him and thought 'he looks really irritating'. However, within minutes I found he was actually a very funny man. I next caught him on 'We are most amused' to celebrate Prince Charles' birthday. His slot was barely 6-7 minutes but me and my family were literally on the floor in hysterics. I bought this DVD shortly afterwards as I was keen to see McIntyre perform for longer than just a few minutes. I can honestly say he is the best stand-up comedian to emerge for years and easily one of the best I have ever seen. His humour is astonishingly clever and very well observed, you can literally see everyone in the audience laughing in agreement with his comments. McIntyre is so funny and refreshing because there is no cynical or nasty edge to his comedy. He is almost like an excitable child, laughing along to his own jokes and revelling in the absurdity of everyday life rather than making cynical knockdowns. A huge part of McIntyre's success is his stage presence; his exudes a huge amount of charisma and quickly wins the audience over by being so thoroughly likable. This show is absolutely brilliant and I cannot wait for his next DVD to be released.
