Glee's Jane Lynch explained the uniqueness of 'Glee' On the Bonnie Hunt Show. Bonnie Hunt recently interviewed Jane Lynch from Fox's hit TV show, "Glee," and she talked about why Glee is so unique, the power of music, and more. Jane started off the interview by revealing that she was in the choir in high school back in the 70's. She said, " Music is the great equalizer where everybody's the same, and they're all sort of working towards one really beautiful thing. You can't be selfish, you can't have an attitude if you're going to sing in a group.and make a really beautiful sound." »

10 to Watch in 2010

31 December 2009 2:06 PM, PST | HollywoodLife | See recent HollywoodLife news »

You might not recognize these names – yet – but you will come 2010!

Check out HollywoodLife.com’s predictions for the actors and actresses who are going to make it big in the New Year!

1. Anna Kendrick

Although she appeared in one of the biggest grossing movies of the year, Twilight Saga: New Moon, it was her role as an ambitious and uptight corporate executive in George Clooney’s 2009 drama Up In The Air that earned Anna a Golden Globe nod. The 24-year-old actress isn’t a stranger to awards, though: she’s a former Tony nominee for her role in 2003’s Broadway production of Camp .

2. Dianna Agron

As Glee’s pregnant cheerleader Quinn Fabray, Dianna Agron could easily have been pigeon-holed as another pretty blond, but her comedic-timing and pitch-perfect voice have set her apart from the pack of Hollywood wanna-bes. And as soon as The Romantics – the film  the 23-year-old »

Glee’s Jane Lynch Talks About The Show And Serenades George Lopez

31 December 2009 11:32 AM, PST | OnTheFlix | See recent OnTheFlix news »

Glee's Jane Lynch talks about the show and serenades George Lopez. Jane Lynch who plays Sue Sylvester on Fox's new hit show, "Glee" appeared on the George Lopez show a couple of weeks ago,and serenaded George Lopez with a silly Spanish song, talked about Glee, and more. To start off, Jane and George took a look at a clip from one of their projects, which revealed that Jane has played the "bitch" on other stuff, not just "Glee." George Lopez said he thinks every project she's involved in, turns out to be a hit. Then Jane pulled out her guitar and serenaded George with a love song since he made her feel so good about herself. It was in Spanish,so I have no idea what she was singing, but I'm sure George knew. »

Discuss: Would 'Glee' Have Worked as a Movie?

31 December 2009 9:32 AM, PST | Cinematical | See recent Cinematical news »

In 2009, no television show gave me more joy than Fox's high school musical, "Glee." The cheeky series about a ragtag Midwest school show choir struggling to make it to Sectionals and avoid getting Slushied in the hallways by the cool kids has delivered an arguably solid 13 episodes full of drama, forbidden romance, bitter rivalries, teen pregnancy, marital duplicity, show tunes and pop covers, and the full comic force of Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch), the scariest villain to ever wear a two-piece track suit.

This week the first 13 episodes of "Glee" are being released to DVD, which should sate those of us going through withdrawals from now until the first season resumes four agonizingly long months from now. But why bring up a TV show on a movie site? Well, because once upon a time, "Glee" was conceived as a major motion picture.

Chime in after the jump.

Glee DVD Review: Road to Sectionals

31 December 2009 6:01 AM, PST | TVfanatic | See recent TVfanatic news »

It's a credit to the Glee cast, crew, producers and musical numbers that the show has remained so popular despite its unusual scheduling.

First, it premiered a single episode in May 2009. Fans were then forced to wait until September for a true first season.

Now, it's taking the longest hiatus a series has ever gone on mid-season. It won't return with new episodes until April.

Fortunately, Fox recognizes this problem and has taken yet another unique step: it released a DVD this week of just the first half of the show's first season.

Titled "Road to Sectionals," the four-disc set includes 13 episodes and a few special features. They are:

Welcome to McKinley: Principal Figgins-featured video that introduces new students/viewers to the school.  Audition Clips: Full-length videos for Rachel's "Respect" and "On My Own" renditions. Casting Sessions – Crew members and cast members discuss the origins of the show, as well »

Can Martin Scorsese pull off a horror movie? Is Glasgow the new Venice? And what's Ricky Gervais up to in Reading? Our critics pick next year's hottest tickets

Film

Cemetery Junction

Having conquered Hollywood, Ricky Gervais is coming home. With his long-time collaborator Stephen Merchant, he has set out to create a British film in the tradition of Billy Liar and the Likely Lads – and of course his own masterpiece The Office – about three blokes working for the Prudential insurance company in Gervais's hometown of Reading. Released on 7 April.

A Single Man

The smart money says Colin Firth will be bringing home a certain gold, bald-headed statuette for his performance as a bereaved gay man in Los Angeles. Based on the 1964 novel by Christopher Isherwood, the movie – fashion designer Tom Ford's directorial debut – follows one day in the life of Firth's literature academic as he confronts his own mortality. ‘Glee’ Fans Rejoice! Jane Lynch Is Going To Be On ‘The Cleveland Show!’

30 December 2009 7:58 PM, PST | HollywoodLife | See recent HollywoodLife news »

Did you hear the great news? We don’t have to wait until April to be gleeful!

We’re utterly devastated that we have to wait until April 2010 to see more episodes of Glee, but luckily we get to see our favorite sourpuss cheer leading coach, Jane Lynch, on the small screen before then!

On Jan. 10, the wise-cracking 49-year-old actress will make her animated debut as a recurring character on the Family Guy spin-off, The Cleveland Show.

Jane’s character, a high school teacher named Ms. Eck, sounds frighteningly familiar to another teacher we know and love to hate—her Glee character, Sue Sylvester. “They both lack filters and say whatever awful thing comes into their mind. In-the-head-out-the-mouth syndrome,” Jane told Entertainment Weekly’s Michael Ausiello.

She did point out some key differences between the snarky characters. “Ms. Eck lacks Sue’s icy Nordic aggression, [and she] may have the largest, most disproportionate butt in cartoon history, »

DVD Review – Glee Season 1: Road to Sectionals

30 December 2009 12:44 PM, PST | TVovermind.com | See recent TVovermind.com news »

Glee is one of those shows that shouldn't have worked.  Another high school dramedy filled with stereotypical characters.  And singing, for God sakes.  Singing.  Sure, a lot of people like American Idol, but do they really want to see a bunch of fairly no-name actors (although some veteran Broadway stars) belt out show tunes?

And yet, beyond all rhyme or reason, Glee works.  Actually, it doesn't merely work.  It excels.  Because Glee is a breath of fresh air that is gigglingly funny and causes viewers to bop about on their couches while the show airs and then immediately head over to iTunes to purchase the latest songs.  How many other recent television shows have released two soundtracks within a three month period?

The scheduling for this show is enough to drive the fans crazy.  It first premiered back in May 2009 with a pilot episode that immediately sent the internet buzzing »

Just in time: My best in show in '09!

30 December 2009 9:56 AM, PST | EW - Inside TV | See recent EW.com - Inside TV news »

I find myself getting crazy reflective as the year draws to a close. Maybe because I'm just that deep. Or maybe just because there is less new stuff to write about this time of year, so I need to fill this column with something. So today, I offer you my picks for the best of the best of the last 12 months. (Fyi: I tried to limit the acting categories to one winner and one runner-up, but in some cases ties were simply unavoidable.) Best Drama Series: Mad Men. Marital drama hasn't been this honestly and gut-wrenchingly depicted since Tony and Carmella came thisclose to divorcing. »

TV Year in Review: Impact Players

No offense, Jon Hamm, Hugh Laurie, Kate Walsh and many other stars. But the TV world has grown accustomed to your greatness.

We still appreciate it every episode, but you'll be recognized at numerous award shows in 2010.

In this feature, we'd like to acknowledge the surprise actors and actresses that made a major impact on the small screen in 2009. Some are totally new to the scene, while others re-invented themselves with hilarious or frightening recurring roles...

Simon Helberg as Howard Wolowitz on The Big Bang Theory: Move over for a few moments, Leonard and Sheldon. Neither of you can compete with the nerdy swagger Wolowitz walks around with. Helberg has made a big impression on Big Bang viewers.

John Lithgow as Arthur Mitchell on Dexter: Events from the season finale left fans buzzing, but Lithgow's terrifying, wide-ranging performance as the Trinity Killer still leaves them shaking. Simply brilliant, »

Jane Lynch to Guest Star on The Cleveland Show

While Glee won't be on the air again until April, Fox is offering viewers an upcoming glimpse of Sue Sylvester on the small screen.

Well, sort of.

Actress Jane Lynch, who rules every scene she's in as Glee's snarky cheerleading coach, will guest star on the January 10 episode of The Cleveland Show. She'll play Mrs. Eck, Roberta's new teacher. Yes, that's the animated version of Lynch below:

Asked by Entertainment Weekly if Eck is anything like Sylvester, Lynch replied:

"They both lack filters and say whatever awful thing comes into their mind. In-the-head-and-out-the-mouth syndrome." »

Glee's fire-breathing badass Jane Lynch will show off a whole new side to herself on the Jan. 10 episode of The Cleveland Show when she debuts as Roberta's brusque, no-nonsense new teacher Ms. Eck. Hit Us television drama Glee, which boasts two big-selling albums and huge ratings, is on its way to UK screens

It has stormed the Us television ratings, been hailed as the best new show of the year and spawned two hit albums. Now the musical comedy Glee – an upbeat but spiky drama about a school's struggling singing club – arrives next month to liven up UK screens in a whirl of jazz hands and power ballads.

Watched by more than 8 million fans – who call themselves "gleeks" – during its first-season run in the Us this autumn, the show follows the attempts of an idealistic Ohio teacher to mould a bunch of high-school misfits into an award-winning "show choir".

Its feelgood mix of optimism, powerhouse vocals and dark humour immediately won over the critics when it debuted in May. Entertainment Weekly described it as "so good – so funny, so bulging with vibrant characters »

"Glee" came to Europe over the holidays, premiering in both Britain and Italy last week. Check out these hilarious Fox TV Italy promos.

We're so sad we can't access the ones for Rachel, Terry (sic) and Tina. They're marked private on YouTube, for reasons we do not know, but here are Quinn, Finn, Puck, Kurt, Will and Artie. Enjoy!

Quinn's Italian Promo: Apparently "Glee" is soft-core and we didn't know 'til now.

Finn's Italian Promo: He's quite the Danny Zuko

Puck's Italian Promo: ...are those cherries? Our stars and garters!

Kurt's Italian Promo: That's our Kurt. You fling that scarf.

Will's Italian Promo: We didn't know Mr. Schu could be so creepy.

Artie's Italian Promo: Awwwww.

Guess what comes out Tuesday, Dec. 29? The first half of "Glee" season one on DVD! We will definitely be purchasing that as a late Christmas present to ourselves.

Britney Spears, Miley Cyrus And Adam Lambert: 10 In 2009

Be sure to check out James Montgomery's definitive year-end list for 2009, and enjoy the "10 In 2009" series that will be running over the next two weeks.

So we've reached the end of a year and a decade. It is crazy how fast 2009 went, but without a doubt this was a good year for music. My tastes are pretty diverse but most of my songs really are some of the ones that hit the charts this year. Here is my countdown with my explanation of why they are in my top 10 list.

10. Ke$ha, "Tik Tok"

A friend of mine played this song to me maybe over a month before it received such mainstream attention and radio airplay. »

TV Fanatic Mid-Season Report Card: Glee

27 December 2009 11:06 AM, PST | TVfanatic | See recent TVfanatic news »

We must face the sad truth: every single primetime show is on hiatus until 2010. Before the calendar turns, however, let's take a look back.

So far, the TV Fanatic staff has reviewed the ups and downs of The Vampire Diaries, 90210, House, Heroes, NCIS and The Good Wife in our mid-season report cards.

In this edition: Glee.

Best character: Kurt. This was a close call. But while Sue Sylvester utters our the funniest Glee quotes, she doesn't sing. Conversely, we can typically rely on Kurt for a great one-liner and a great note or two dozen during one of the show's countless musical numbers. He was also the focus of our favorite episode so far, "Preggers."

Worst character: Terri. This isn't Jessalyn Gilsig's fault. Her character was simply given grating material. Now that the fake pregnancy storyline has ended, perhaps Terri can return to simply being neurotic and somewhat entertaining. »
