Kristen Stewart's impressive 'vampire orgasm'

15 hours ago | National Ledger | See recent National Ledger news »

Kristen Stewart impressed the director with her ''vampire orgasm'' in 'Twilight'. Bill Condon - who was at the helm of the final two instalments of the film adaption, 'The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Parts 1 and 2' - has revealed he was impressed with how she acted in a particular scene. He said: ''I'd been a fan of Kristen's before Breaking Dawn, and I loved working with her. She's incredibly smart and committed, she played such a range of emotions across a single film, from wedding jitters to death throes to vampire orgasm - I mean, if you can pull that off, you can do anything.'' And whilst 'Twilight' has seen its fair share of critics, Bill is glad he got the chance to ''channel his love of classic horror films'' into the flick. He told Vanity Fair magazine: ''One of the reasons I wanted to do 'Breaking Dawn »

Exclusive: 5-Minute Preview Of Carter Burwell's 'Mr. Holmes' Score

21 July 2015 1:11 PM, PDT | The Playlist | See recent The Playlist news »

It's something of a crime that the great Carter Burwell has never won an Oscar, let alone been nominated, because it's hard to imagine some of the movies he's worked on without his musical touch. He's done memorable work for the Coen Brothers in films like "Fargo" and "Miller's Crossing," and his talents run wide, working on everything from Spike Jonze's singular "Where The Wild Things Are" to blockbuster "The Twilight Saga — Breaking Dawn." And his latest effort is another move in an interesting direction with Bill Condon's "Mr. Holmes." Led by Ian McKellen as the famed detective, the story follows the elderly crime solver who embarks on a mission to solve one last case. It's a journey that will see him confront issues of memory, aging, and legacy. And as you'll hear below in this exclusive preview, Burwell brings a sensitive touch with his compositions for the movie. »

'Mr. Holmes' (2015) Movie Review

17 July 2015 9:34 AM, PDT | Rope of Silicon | See recent Rope Of Silicon news »

Elegantly executed through sincere emotions, graceful maturity and tremendously striking performances, Mr. Holmes is a wonderful return-to-form for director Bill Condon. Following a series of disappointing efforts like the muddled The Fifth Estate and exasperating The Twilight Series: Breaking Dawn movies, the filmmaker channels what made him such a haunting force, further humanizing Arthur Conan Doyle's legendary fictional figure and quaintly extenuating his character's story with tons of heart, wit and poise. Based on Mitch Cullin's 2005 novel "A Slight Trick of the Mind", this iteration of Sherlock Holmes (Ian McKellen) finds the notorious detective in 1947, 93-years-old and living under the exaggerated shadow created by his late partner Watson's pen. With a failing mind and continuously haunted by the one mystery he couldn't solve, the retired celebrity returns from Hiroshima, Japan to once again live under the care of his housekeeper Mrs. Munro (Laura Linney) and her young son »

Top 20 Most Profitable Movies That Are Terrible

25 May 2015 3:00 AM, PDT | Cinelinx | See recent Cinelinx news »

Movies that make money don’t always do so because they’re good. Here’s our list of underwhelming movies that happened to overwhelm the box office.

While the box office is a good, general representation of the popularity of a film, it is not necessarily an indicator of quality. Yes, it is true that most of the highest grossing movies have also received favorable reviews from critics and audiences alike, that’s often what makes them a hit, but there are some exceptions. This is a list of those exceptions. This is a list of those movies that did spectacularly well at the box office, but ended up being an inferior product.

So why would so many people want to see a terrible film? Why would they waste their hard-earned money and fleeting free time? The answer is actually pretty simple. Many of these films share a lot of common traits. »

Kristen Stewart Remembers That "Epic" Twilight Sex Scene With Ex-Boyfriend Robert Pattinson

Epic, alright! Kristen Stewart took a trip down memory lane in Harper's Bazaar UK's May 2015 cover story, and remembered her "epic" sex scene with her ex-boyfriend Robert Pattinson in the 2011 movie, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part I. "I only hate them when they're contrived," she said. "That's when it's grotesquely uncomfortable. On Twilight we had to do the most epic sex scene of all time. It had to be transcendent and otherworldly, inhuman, better sex than you can possibly ever imagine, and we were [...] »

Suicide Squad Adds Twilight Actor

David Ayer's Suicide Squad is going to be starting production soon, but you didn't really think that was going to stop it from continuing to add to its gigantic cast, did you? This ensemble just isn't ready to stop growing yet, and new reports are now coming in saying that actor Alex Meraz has signed on as the latest addition to the comic book movie. Variety was the first to drop the news online, though what's unfortunate is that they don't seem to have any details regarding what Meraz's role in the movie will be. If you're a fan of sparkly vampire teen fiction, it's likely that you recognize Meraz, as starred in The Twilight Saga: New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn - Part 1 as Paul, one of the franchise's many werewolves. He recently also appeared in the British miniseries New Worlds, which also featured Fifty Shades of Grey »

Pre-production on Disney’s live-action Beauty and the Beast has begun and the Beast himself, Dan Stevens has given us our first look at the cast.

The actor posted a partial cast selfie to Instagram earlier today (on what also happens to be star Emma Watson’s 25th birthday) and the movie already looks like it’s going to be a lot of fun!

Stevens has rounded up co-stars Josh Gad (Le Fou), Luke Evans (Gaston), Kevin Kline (Maurice), and Emma Watson (Belle) for their group shot.

The only cast members missing are Emma Thompson who stars as Mrs. Potts, Gugu Mbatha-Raw who is playing Plumette, and Audra McDonald as the wardrobe Madame de la Grande Bouche.  Rumours have been swirling that Oscar winner Jean Dujardin has been eyed for the role of Lumiere and we have to admit, that would pretty much be perfect casting.  It was just confirmed »

Beauty And The Beast Snags Ian McKellen For Cogsworth

However you feel about Disney plumbing its past fairy tales for big screen redos, there’s no denying that the studio’s casting choices for Bill Condon’s upcoming Beauty and the Beast have been spot-on. With Emma Watson in the role of Belle, and Dan Stevens and Luke Evans vying for her affections as the Beast and Gaston (respectively), the film looks increasingly like a must-see for acting aficionados. Now, the production has attracted another A-lister, with news that X-Men‘s Ian McKellen is taking on the role of Cogsworth.

In the original Disney flick, Cogsworth was the loyal butler to the Prince who was magically transformed into a clock by the same spell that turned his master into a savage beast.

McKellen joins a supporting cast that also includes Josh Gad as Gaston’s right hand man LeFou, Emma Thompson as Mrs. Potts, Kevin Kline as Maurice, and Audra MacDonald as Garderobe. »
