28 July 2016 6:39 PM, PDT | E! Online | See recent E! Online news »

Do you guys remember Mackenzie Foy? Of course you do. She's the cute little girl who played Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson's half-vampire child in Twilight, except now, she's not so little anymore. It's been almost four years since we saw Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 2 on the big screen (pause to accept how long it's been...), which means it's been roughly four years since we saw the little girl known as Renesmee, and while we know that people grow up, we just can't believe how grown up Foy has gotten in the last few years. Seriously, she was always a cutie, but now she's a beautiful young woman. Like, what?! They just grow up so fast! Along with blossoming »

From Rosemary's Baby to Bridget Jones: a quick scan of pregnancy on film

6 March 2016 7:00 AM, PST | The Guardian - Film News | See recent The Guardian - Film News news »

For years, pregnant women on film have either been neurotic, placid or walking grossout gags. Alice Lowe, who directed and starred in her own horror film at seven months, says we should expect more

Pregnant heroines can be fascinating, funny, complex characters, though few have been as memorable as Mia Farrow in Rosemary’s Baby, the mother of all pregnancy movies. Roman Polanski’s 1968 horror was notable for showing events from the pregnant woman’s point of view as Farrow began to suspect her neighbours of sinister designs on her unborn. A nativity story it was not.

The fearful expectant mother is a familiar horror movie trope – and many of them have good reason for concern. From Charlize Theron in The Astronaut’s Wife to the women in Village of the Damned, the prospect of an alien on board is terrifying. More recently, Twilight: Breaking Dawn played on the fears »

Emmy and Golden Globe-nominated actor Michael Sheen (Masters of Sex) will lend his voice to Pixar’s Finding Dory, this year’s sequel to the 2003 hit Finding Nemo.

The news comes from an episode of the podcast Doug Loves Movies, hosted by Doug Benson (Super High Me), which was released about two weeks back. Towards the end of the January 13th episode, on which Greg Proops and Julian McCullough also guested, when asked if he had any upcoming projects to plug, Sheen casually brought up his involvement in the sequel. The actor said, “Finding Nemo 2 should be coming out at some point… which I’m in.”

In 2016, Sheen will also be reprising his role as the White Rabbit from Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland in Alice Through the Looking Glass; in addition to that, he will act alongside Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt in Morten Tyldum’s Passengers. »

When to expect all the upcoming live action fairytale movies, including Dumbo, Beauty And The Beast and two Jungle Books…

You’ve probably noticed the influx of live action fairytales gracing cinemas in recent years. This isn’t about to stop any time soon, since re-spinning a recognisable fantastical yarn with real people instead of animated ones always makes big money for the studio behind it.

Although it wadsn’t the first movie of this kind, Tim Burton’s Alice In Wonderland – and its worldwide gross of over a billion dollars – can surely take the credit for kick-starting this trend. Here are all the in-development movies trying to repeat its success, »
