Kristen Stewart and Lupita Nyong’o circling Charlie’s Angels reboot

29 September 2017 1:40 PM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

It’s been months since the last update on Elizabeth Banks’ silver screen reboot of Charlie’s Angels, but today Variety has broken the silence and revealed the first bit of potential casting information. According to the outlet, Sony is eyeing Twilight star Kristen Stewart to play a member of the titular crime-fighting private detective trio.

The studio is also interested in a number of other names, including Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o, whose involvement with the project sounds slightly less concrete than Stewart’s at the time.

Charlie’s Angels began as a series, which ran on ABC for five seasons from 1976 to 1981 and originally starred Kate Jackson, Jaclyn Smith and Farrah Fawcett (Fawcett and Jackson eventually left the cast and were replaced by Cheryl Ladd, Shelley Hack and Tanya Roberts). Since then, the show has been rebooted a few times, most famously in the early 2000s in the »

Sony Classical announces the release of Goodbye Christopher Robin (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) with an original score by Academy Award®-nominated composer Carter Burwell.

The soundtrack will be released digitally on October 13 and on CD on October 27, 2017. The film will be released in the Us on October 13, 2017.

Pre-order here.

Goodbye Christopher Robin is directed by Simon Curtis (My Week with Marilyn, Woman in Gold) and will be released in Us theaters by Fox Searchlight Pictures on October 13, 2017.

Carter Burwell said about the score:

“One of the riskier decisions Simon Curtis and I made with the score was to withhold the main theme until the middle of the film, when A. A. Milne begins to write and his friend Ernest Shepard begins to illustrate “Winnie The Pooh”. We did this to make that moment especially noteworthy, to make it the turning point of the story. Before that point, the music plays »

Twilight Star Kellan Lutz Thinks a Reboot Is a Bad Idea

11 September 2017 12:55 PM, PDT | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

It's been almost five years since The Twilight Saga came to an end with Breaking Dawn - Part 2, and there have been plenty of rumors swirling about the franchise eventually returning to the big screen, but one star doesn't think it should happen. Kellan Lutz, who played Emmet Cullen in all five Twilight Saga movies, revealed in a recent interview that he doesn't think a reboot would make sense in this day and age. Here's what the actor had to say below.

"If Twilight was made in the 1980s or '90s, and then now we have all of the special effects, then yeah, cool, reboot it. But I don't really feel like... I mean, we had great special effects in that movie. Especially Breaking Dawn with Bill Condon. The movies look beautiful and they aren't these action-packed movies or these massive worlds like Marvel where you could reboot it »

Top Ten Movie Franchises Based on Books

16 August 2017 9:00 AM, PDT | Cinelinx | See recent Cinelinx news »

For as long as there have been movies, there have been movies based on books. This is a look at the best movie franchises that are either based on a book or several books.

It’s one thing to have a movie that is based on a book. It happens all the time. It’s more rare to have an entire franchise of films based on a book or set of books. Over the last two decades, it seems like we have been seeing more and more franchises emerge that are based on books. This seems to be happening for a few reasons. First, Hollywood is more than ever looking for established properties on which to base films. Book, have been and always will be one of the best established properties for a movie to be based upon. Second, if the books have a big following, chances are that the »

Lionsgate seemingly keen to revive Twilight and The Hunger Games

9 August 2017 4:02 AM, PDT | HeyUGuys.co.uk | See recent HeyUGuys news »

Author: Scott Davis

Out of all the franchises that have come along in the last decade perhaps none were as big as Lionsgate’s double whammy of Twilight and The Hunger Games, at least in terms of its fan base. Based on the best-selling books, both rode the wave of the young adult sub-genre and were the stalwarts for the many Ya adaptations that followed.

But sadly as with most good things, both series came to a close and the studio, and indeed the fans, have been clamoring for both ever since. And they may all get their wish if Lionsgate have anything to say about it – and CEO Jon Feltheimer opened the door to new stories on Wall Street this week, saying to analysts: (via Variety)

“There are a lot more stories to be told, and we’re ready to tell them when our creators are ready to tell those stories, »

More Hunger Games and Twilight Movies Planned at Lionsgate

8 August 2017 6:49 PM, PDT | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

It's been just two years since the Hunger Games franchise came to an end, but even before The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 hit theaters, Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltenheimer teased that the studio is "actively developing" prequel and sequel ideas to continue the franchise. We haven't heard anything concrete on this front since then, but during an earnings conference call, Jon Feltenheimer again teased that the studio not only wants more Hunger Games movies, but more Twilight movies as well. However, he also seemed to indicate that these projects would not move forward unless the franchise creators are involved. Here's what he had to say during the investor's call below.

"There are a lot more stories to be told, and we're ready to tell them when our creators are ready to tell those stories."

Okay, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner's Twilight Reunion Is Pretty Freakin' Adorable

Miss seeing Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner play a vampire and werewolf in the Twilight series? Well, the actors probably aren't reprising their supernatural roles anytime soon, but they did have an adorable reunion in La on Thursday. The former costars and real-life friends shared a sweet embrace at a Moschino afterparty. While Kristen sported her infamous buzzed haircut, Taylor showed off some sexy scruff as he wrapped his arm around her shoulder. This isn't the first time the two have reunited since wrapping Breaking Dawn – Part 2. In 2015, Kristen brought along Taylor as her date to her big premiere for American Ultra. Bella and Jacob may not have been true love, but we're happy to see Kristen and Taylor's friendship is still going strong. »

Simon Brew Apr 21, 2017

Robert Pattinson has interest in returning to Twilight, but notes "it's always difficult when there's no source material"...

Even though it’s been a good few years now since the Twilight movie franchise drew to a close (with Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 2), chatter about another screen adventure continues to bubble up. Articles such as this one don’t help, of course.

But then Robert Pattinson, who played Edward Cullen across the five films in the series, has been asked about potentially reprising the role in a future film. And it seems that he may well be up for it.

Chatting to Yahoo, he queried “so, I’ll get my own spin-off?”, before adding “I’m always kind of curious. Anything where there’s a mass audience - or seemingly an audience for it - I always like the idea of subverting people’s expectations. There could be »

Fresh from the box office success of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, it looks like director Bill Condon may have found his next project, with Deadline reporting that the filmmaker is in talks with Universal to helm their planned Bride of Frankenstein remake.

Condon does have previous history with Bride of Frankenstein, having including a homage to the classic Monster movie in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1, as well as writing and directing Gods and Monsters, which revolved around Frankenstein and Bride of Frankenstein director James Whale and saw him receiving the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay.

Bride of Frankenstein will be part of Universal’s shared Classic Monsters universe, which launches this summer with The Mummy. Previous rumours have suggested that Universal wants Angelina Jolie for the lead role as The Monster’s Bride, played by Elsa Lanchester in the original movie. »
