Storyline

ROYAL PAINS centers on a young E.R. doctor who, after being wrongly blamed for a patient's death, moves to the Hamptons and becomes the reluctant "doctor for hire" to the rich and famous. Trivia

Boris' magnificent home (Oheka Castle, one of the biggest US mansions, circa 1919), is actually west of The Hamptons and about 20 minutes from the North Port power station, whose four smokestacks can be seen in some shots. This means it would be unlikely Hank and Evan would see water from their patio, even though a jetty and water are always in the background, implying an ocean view. See more »

Quotes

Divya Katdare: ["Characters Welcome" crossover ad with "Burn Notice": Divya is diagnosing Sam Axe in a bar] It could be excessive blood loss or hypoglycemia. Are you on a diuretic?
Sam Axe: No.
Divya Katdare: Perhaps it's even psychogenic polydipsia.
Sam Axe: Oh?
Divya Katdare: Any one of those could be causing your excessive thirst.
Waiter: [gives Sam a beer bottle] Here you go, sir.
Sam Axe: Thank you.
[he takes a drink from it]
Sam Axe: Hey! What do you know? It's gone! It's like a miracle cure!
Divya Katdare: Miraculous.

I love this show!!
13 September 2009 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

This show is great! I think it has the perfect mix of, well everything...the only thing I don't like is the character Jill, I don't think the actress is a very good actress she seems to be trying too hard, other than that I love everything about the show. I love Dr. Lawson and Evan!!! I can't wait until next summer!! Think this show has great potential. I love the different story lines and illnesses. I'm interested to see all the complex stories they can come up with. I have noticed that it's usually the simplest answer. I guess the appeal is as patients, we want a doctor that is caring and smart...in really life that doesn't really happen. I'm stoked for next season!!
