In order to avoid a ghostly figure in the road, high school senior Brent Mitchell wraps his car around a tree, killing his father. Constantly confronted by his mother's emotional collapse after the accident, Brent escapes into a marijuana fueled world of loud metal music to block the pain and guilt. Dejected and out of sorts, he has a shot at happiness with his girlfriend Holly, a grounded, caring girl with drop dead good looks, a dream date for the high school prom. But his plans are thwarted by a disturbing series of events that take place under a mirrored disco ball, involving pink satin, glitter, syringes, nails, power drills and a secret admirer. Brent has become the prom king at a macabre, sadistic event where he is the entertainment. Written by
It was good enough but not great, visually very good-looking and nice details in the visual department et al, acting was fine, story was good enough, it just never wowed me or anything and despite being a pretty disturbing movie I never felt disturbed lol...
And it had a subplot with other characters which didn't really involve the main story that much, despite being good and entertaining it felt a little like you were wondering why they were in it for so long duration of the movie when it's all said and done...
But uhm I'll give it 6/10 def not more...
In my opinion a better movie about a twisted teen girl is Excision (2012) others may disagree though, but I felt like that went more into the depth of the mind, where as here there literally is no motive as to why this girl and her father are so cruel and crazy and what makes them "tick"...
