21 December 2012 3:48 AM, PST | WorstPreviews.com | See recent Worst Previews news »

Earlier this month, RiffTrax, which is owned by the guys behind "Mystery Science Theater 3000," asked its users to vote for the Worst Movie of All Time. IGN then stepped in and urged its users to visit the site and vote. After several weeks, over 500,000 people voted and RiffTrax now has a list consisting of 25 movies. Taking first place is "The Twilight Saga" with 35,593 votes. "Batman and Robin" took second place, followed by "Catwoman." The list is filled with some terrible films, but also movies that were considered disappointing that probably don't deserve to be among the worst movies of all time. Check out the full list below. 1. The Twilight Saga (35,593 votes) 2. Batman and Robin (27,929 votes) 3. Catwoman (22,544 votes) 4. Spider-Man 3 (19,152 votes) 5. Last Airbender (18,086 votes) 6. Super Mario Bros (17,755 votes) 7. ‘Birdemic 2: The Resurrection’ Trailer

23 August 2012 10:38 PM, PDT | ScreenRant.com | See recent Screen Rant news »

Today’s biggest hits are often big-budget spectacles like The Hunger Games and The Dark Knight Rises that utilize a combination of acting talent, compelling drama and a sharp visual aesthetic to craft a story that audiences can lose themselves in.

Then, there are other films that – despite an obvious lack of all of the above – remain entertaining for the sheer absurdity of it all. To many audiences, these films are so bad they’re good, and it is in this camp that Birdemic 2: The Resurrection clearly calls home.

Courtesy of IMDb, the first trailer for the sequel to 2010’s Birdemic: Shock and Terror (as discussed on our Screen Rant Underground podcast) is now available. “Master of the romantic thriller” James Nguyen returns to ...

First Teaser for Birdemic II: The Resurrection, Sequel to the ‘Best Worst Film of 2010’

10 July 2012 1:30 AM, PDT | HeyUGuys.co.uk | See recent HeyUGuys news »

2010’s Birdemic: Shock and Terror currently stands tall with an impressive 1.9 on IMDb, and despite critics largely panning it as one of the worst films they’ve ever seen – and, in some cases, the best worst film of the year – writer-director James Nguyen is back for more.

The first teaser spot has been put up over at Yahoo Movies ahead of the film, director, and cast’s appearance at Comic-Con this Friday – the 13th – and if you’re going and want in, head over to the film’s Facebook to sign up to their event (for 21+).

“Bill is a struggling filmmaker; Gloria is an aspiring actress.  Rod, a Silicon Valley millionaire finances Bill’s film, a dream come true until eagles and vultures attack Hollywood and its up to Rod, his girlfriend Nathalie, new friends and old to mount the resistance.  Who will survive?”

First Teaser for Birdemic II: The Resurrection Hungry for Shawarma

The first teaser trailer for Birdemic II: The Resurrection, the sequel to Birdemic: Shock and Terror (review here), has hit the interwebs and is waiting for your perusal. Check it out in all of its extremely goofy familiarity!

Alan Bagh and Whitney Moore have officially signed on to reprise their characters along with many other familiar characters from Half Boon Bay that are set to return. While showing off his mastery of the romantic thriller, director James Nguyen will be introducing two new characters as well, and while we can't drop the plot bombshell we learned of on you guys just yet, we can tell you that Nguyen has raised the stakes this time; and you, my fellow sickos, are in for one hell of a crazed and very romantic experience.

Birdemic II: The Resurrection Teaser Trailer

9 July 2012 2:07 PM, PDT | FilmJunk | See recent FilmJunk news »

James Nguyen's Birdemic: Shock and Terror is one of those "so bad it's good" movies that has built up a reputation over the past couple of years through screenings and word of mouth. Praised for its inept direction, atrocious special effects and terrible acting, the movie was Nguyen's attempt to pay tribute to Hitchcock's The Birds. The resulting film has been mentioned in the same breath as such cult classics as Troll 2 and The Room, and Tim and Eric even took a liking to it and helped promote it as well. Two years later, a sequel is imminent... but does it matter that James Nguyen is now in on the joke? Birdemic II: The Resurrection finds many of the same cast members returning to deal with another eagle and vulture attack... this time in Hollywood, California. The first teaser trailer has premiered online over at Yahoo! of all places, »

Top 7 Films I Wish I Could Watch Again for the First Time

22 June 2012 6:00 AM, PDT | The Scorecard Review | See recent Scorecard Review news »

We start the Top 7. You finish the Top 10.

This week’s “Question of the Week” on Jeff Bayer’s “Movie B.S.” podcast is inspired by Brave — the first film by Pixar to have a lead female protagonist.

The discussion goes to other firsts, namely movie experiences. What movies do you wish you could watch again for the first time?

Here are my Top 7 movies, which include a whole bunch of significant movies with first-time experiences that will never be matched.

7. Psycho (1960)

Recap: Alfred Hitchcock made it forever unsafe to shower in motels and befriend handsome mama’s boys with this film, starring Janet Leigh and Anthony Perkins.

First Viewing Experience: By myself, in the dark, in my basement (Note: This was a very bad idea).

Reason: Many horror movies work best when you don’t really know what’s coming. And even with the pop culture sensation of this movie ruining its famous bits, »

Yahoo! Lists the 100 Funniest Movies to See Before You Die

10 April 2012 11:00 AM, PDT | FilmJunk | See recent FilmJunk news »

It's not easy to put together a top 100 of just about anything, but the folks over at Yahoo! Movies have really thrown down the gauntlet this time with a list of the 100 Funniest Movies to See Before You Die. In describing the list, they maintain that their goal was to choose the "funniest" movies out there, not necessarily the "best" comedies. With that in mind, you might think they'd stay away from critically acclaimed classics and lean more toward low brow, quick and easy laughfests. But you'd be wrong. There are a lot of classics on this list, everything from The Apartment to Dr. Strangelove to Charlie Chaplin's Modern Times and Buster Keaton's The General. There are also movies on here that aren't really "comedies" per se, such as Pulp Fiction and Martin Scorsese's After Hours. More than anything, this serves as a reminder that what is »

Mighty Movie's Temple of Bad: Birdemic: Shock and Terror

3 April 2012 9:33 AM, PDT | Moviefone | See recent Moviefone news »

It might've been a fever dream, but then, fever dreams tend to make more sense. I'd heard the legend of Birdemic: Shock and Terror -- a film allegedly so bad that it has rapidly become a contender for the worst film ever made -- but not until I sat down for a viewing did I realize how profoundly I would be transformed. Directed by the self-proclaimed "Master of the Romantic Thriller(Tm)", James Nguyen, the film tells the tale of two lovers (Alan Bagh and Whitney Moore) whose small, Northern California town becomes a front line in the ecological war when a flock of environmentally-conscious (not to mention surprisingly volatile) eagles and vultures decide to vent their fury with explosive, kamikaze attacks and acid-laced spit (or possibly poop -- it's hard to tell). Clearly a labor of love for its creator, who cites Hitchcock's The Birds as inspiration (and who »

Alan Bagh and Whitney Moore to Reprise Their Roles for Birdemic II

24 January 2012 6:18 AM, PST | Beyond Hollywood | See recent Beyond Hollywood news »

Screw the 2011 Academy Award Nominations — I just learned that Alan Bagh and Whitney Moore, the stars of James Nguyen’s cult sensation “Birdemic: Shock and Terror”, will reprise their roles for the sequel. “Birdemic II: Resurrection 3D” begins shooting on February 4th, 2012, which means that we may get the sequel sometime before the end of the year. Given the original’s loyal and dedicated following, I seriously doubt fans will have to wait as long for the flick to find a distributor. “Birdemic”, of course, is Nguyen’s beloved romantic thriller that follows the adventures of a young couple and their blood-soaked encounters with loads of murderous birds. If the follow-up is anything like the first installment, expect loads of cheap special effects, cringe-inducing performances, and a plot that makes little to no sense whatsoever. Sounds like a good time to me! The trailer for the original has been embedded »
