Breath of fresh air
29 November 2009 | by (Birmingham, UK) – See all my reviews

This is the best new comedy drama that I've seen on UK terrestrial TV for an age. Anna Nightingale is just superb as Meeshell - delivering malapropisms and irony in equal measure as she describes her attempt to become famous. I was creasing myself at her hilarious monologue, which managed to be both funny and touching at the same time.

Although the second episode didn't quite live up to the Me-Me-Meeshell episode, this series already stands out for the quality of the writing. I only hope that the rest of the six episodes can maintain the standard.

It's a joy when a new TV programme shows that everything else is so mediocre in comparison. It happens so infrequently these days. Anna Nightingale's delivery is pitch perfect, bringing Meeshell to life and making her perfectly believable.

Mouth to Mouth is the second quality "yoof" series to appear recently, the other being Misfits. Being of advanced years (beyond the demographic age for this kind of series) I'm really glad that I tuned in to these two little gems. I can't wait for the rest of Mouth to Mouth.
