Did You Know?

After completing filming, the production crew decided they had produced a movie that did not live up to the original expectations and it would not do well. They decided to remake the movie under the name "The Lost Tribe" with a new director, script and cast. However, the film is being released straight to DVD by "Voltage Pictures".See more »

This movie horribly sucks, 10 July 2009
Author: Argemaluco from Argentina

The story behind the production of this movie is so complicated that I am not even sure about its title. In Argentina, this movie is called "La Tribu",a straight translation of its supposed title in English,The Tribe. However, the title which appeared on this movie is The Forgotten Ones. Now,the thing starts to get more complicated : there are apparently two versions of this movie, because the producers were so unhappy with the original version (and, according to some gossips, with the main actress) that they decided to film big part of the material again but with a different cast, and that version received the title of The Lost Tribe. So,according to the official website, that new version is the one which was sold to the distribution company Lionsgate as a part of its line After Dark Horrorfest.Unfortunately, all those pathetic gossips from the industry are much more interesting than this horrible movie.Leaving aside all those gossips,The Forgotten Ones (or whatever its title is) is a pathetic "horror" movie.Actress Jewel Staite is more famous for her work on the cult TV series Firefly and Stargate Atlantis and, although she has some charisma, the screenplay is so poor that she does not have much to do with her character. The screenplay from this movie is a big piece of crap : showing a young woman running through the jungle for 90 minutes does not qualify as a story.I suppose that the lenght from this screenplay was of no more than 10 or 12 pages. The Forgotten Ones is a pathetic horror film which truly damages to the reputation of the genre,so do not make the same mistake as me and do not watch it.If you want to see a good "tropical horror" film,I suggest you to see The Ruins or Rogue.
