Trivia
Comparisons have been drawn between this series (a reimagining of
V) and
Battlestar Galactica, another gritty reimagining of a "classic" sci-fi TV series. In the US, the original Galactica aired on ABC, but the new version aired on Sci-Fi (an NBC-owned channel); the original V aired on NBC, but the new version is on ABC. Parallels between the new series even extends to the cast:
Rekha Sharma and
Michael Trucco are Galactica stars who have appeared in minor roles in "V".

Best new show on Australian television this year. We don't get much science fiction in prime-time but this is awesome. It has something for everyone, alien conquerors for sci-fi fans and dramatic storyline for fans of drama. I originally watched the broadcast from the US in November as Channel 9 Australia decided to delay the launch until after the Winter Olympics and I was blown away as to how great it was. I grew up with the original Kenneth Johnson Mini-Series and spin-off series and had been waiting for his 2nd Generation to be made into a series or movie but after a lot of talk and speculation nothing. I then heard of this re-imagining of V and thought it would be like all the other re-make of late but after the first four episodes I was pleasantly surprised at how different it was to the original. The creative team behind this need to be applauded for taking an established piece of work and making it something distinctive and engaging. AWESOME!!!!
