Storyline

Nonagenarian General Fentimann is found dead of an apparent heart attack at his gentlemen's club on Armistice Day, the same day as his estranged sister, passes on too. The lawyer representing the estate recruits Wimsey to investigate the matter in order to discover which of the siblings died first as that would greatly affect which side of the family would inherit the bulk of the fortune. Quotes

Robert Fentiman: I'm a married man as you know, Peter. Comic figure - the married man kept by his wife.
Lord Peter Wimsey: We all have to be kept by someone, you know. Better one's wife than a person of low character.
