Creepy,...but sweet
16 May 2009 | by (Bradenton, Florida) – See all my reviews

This is a rather creepy film in some ways, but you should keep watching, as it turns out to be quite sweet. A shy seamstress is the star of the film and she is very lonely as she goes about doing her job. She longs for human interaction, but mostly she sits and pines as she works. Later, on a strange lark, she dresses up a mannequin and begins dancing with it and pretending it's a man. And, in an even odder moment, it appears to come to life!! In the end, however, she meets a nice and REAL man and the film ends on an up note.

TOUCH is an interesting movie in several ways. First, the entire cast appear to be Asian-Americans--a group you just don't see that often in films--particularly shorts like this one. Second, watching Kiki Yeung in the lead is great, as she goes from rather mousy to extremely beautiful very quickly and she's quite the radiant actress. I sure hope to see more of her in future films.

Overall, a bit creepy to see her making out with a dummy, but it all is quite lovely overall and ends well.
