Netflix’s Castlevania Trailer Teases A Faithful Animated Adaptation

19 hours ago | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Back in February, we finally got official confirmation that the long-rumored animated TV adaptation of popular horror video game, Castlevania, was heading to Netflix, and now the streaming service has debuted our very first look at the show via a brief teaser trailer.

The preview kicks off with the Castlevania game being inserted into an old-school Nintendo system (the blowing on the cartridge is a nice touch), before we get down to the vampire slaying. The footage doesn’t give us a whole lot to go on, but we are introduced to several characters – including, presumably, at least one member of the Belmont family – and get a pretty good idea of what to expect from the the anime-style action. There are also a few glimpses of bloody confrontations, which suggest that the show isn’t going to skimp on violence.

Castlevania is being produced spearheaded by Adi Shankar, who has previously promised a “dark, »

23 May 2017 6:26 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Boom! Studios and Cartoon Network have announced the upcoming release of the six issue comic book crossover Adventure Time/Regular Show, bringing together the casts of the two hit Cartoon Network series into one story.

“When you get the opportunity to put your little flag into the surface of not one, but two of the greatest story worlds in recent history, you gotta say yes!” said writer Conor McCreery. “I’m excited, terrified, tickled, and tormented by all the amazing characters and storylines that could go into this crazy thing. Adventure Time and Regular Show are special to me because of the combination of out-of-left-field humor and really deep emotion. I’m going to try to honor those twin engines as best I can with a story that has a Lot of weird stuff, a whack of battles, a few tears, and at least one incidence of Ice King being a patoot. »

Kumail Nanjiani: 'For a long time, there was one famous American brown actor'

17 April 2017 1:00 AM, PDT | The Guardian - Film News | See recent The Guardian - Film News news »

From an uber-nerd programmer in Silicon Valley to romantic lead in Sundance hit The Big Sick, the actor discusses shaking up the tired Hollywood romcom

‘I was not a cool kid,” admits Kumail Nanjiani. “There was no reason for me to be marginalised. I was just a nerd. I was kind of weird and I found solace in video games.” In a pop culture universe dominated by grown men who never quite outgrew their adolescent preoccupations, Nanjiani’s origin story is hardly unusual. The Pakistan-born comic, actor and writer spent his formative years huddled in his bedroom playing Golden Axe on his Sega Genesis, and becoming immersed to the point of obsession with The X-Files.

Since embarking on a career in comedy – he relocated to the Us with his family when he was 18 – he has largely catered to audiences that share his particular enthusiasms. He has hosted a podcast about »

‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ Bad Lip Reading Features Mark Hamill as Han Solo, Bb-8 Speaking, and So Much More

6 April 2017 11:49 AM, PDT | Indiewire | See recent Indiewire news »

Star Wars,” in all its glory and popularity, has always been a fun target for parodies, from “Spaceballs” to “Family Guy.” Now, the YouTube channel “Bad Lip Reading” is at it again, replacing original dialogue from “The Force Awakens” to create hilarious conversations in their newest video, which you can watch below. Oh yeah, and Mark Hamill provides the voice for Han Solo, perfectly channeling his inner Harrison Ford.

Coming off the recent (and annoyingly catchy) Yoda “Seagulls” song, “Bad Lip Reading” creates hilarious scenarios where Bb-8 can speak, Kylo Ren reaches new levels of creepy, and Leia can’t seem to make much sense at all. Rey and Finn are also subject to the alternate dialogue, with Jessica Dicicco (“Adventure Time”) voicing the former.
