Charming, sensitive film, with laughter amid tears. Through
the full cycle of a year, beautifully suggested, it leads the spectator through a lifetime enterprise. The name in Croatian, 'The Old Man and the Family', refers no doubt to a struggle not less immense, 'The Old Man and the Sea'. Bravo.
