Trivia

Milo's (Seth Green) mom (Joan Cusack) is wearing a Carolina Panthers jersey with the name Smith and the number 21 on it when she is taken to Mars. As of the 2011 season no player with the last name Smith has worn 21 in the team's history. (Most recently the number has been worn by defensive back Brandon Hogan.) Because of this, Smith may be Milo's family's last name, as fan apparel is often customized in this manner. See more »

Unbelievable tour de force of Color , 3D and a meaningful story!
13 June 2012 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

I am not going to spoil this wonderful morality tale about a young boy, his mother and a wild trip to and through Mars with the locals who are drawn, ahem, how shall I put this, with amazingly curvy hinder parts. Anyhoo, the direction is superb never missing a beat, never a dull moment with some subtle tips of the hat to Star Wars and perhaps 2001 Space Odyssey amongst others, but this is definitely a version all its own with a new twist. The colors as viewed on an HD3300 are simply even more colorful at times than Avatar and are truly breathtaking to behold. The 3D and detail is perhaps the best overall implementation I have ever seen. Very little ghosting, no crosstalk at all, astounding imaging and sense of depth. The master must be at least 4-8K resolution. Sure there are maybe some slightly "goofy" moments at times but remember folks, kids are along for the ride and what a ride it is. The cast featuring Seth Green, Joan Cusack, Dan Fogler, and Elisabeth Harnois (permission to fall in love with martian version) all did a great job with motion capture and voice acting. Kudos to director Simon Wells and screenwriter Wendy Wells and everyone else who worked on this fabulous project! Please buy or rent this film. It is a digital work of art!
