"I really think Amanda deserves a decent send-off"

Beth's undramatic death continues to be used as a cheap plot device, here forcing Tony and Naomi together. It could work but it doesn't really, especially when the last scene is as confusing as it is.It would be a lot more interesting if we actually saw some sort of potential relationship between Naomi and Lucas but instead Naomi's shut the whole idea down flat.We do get some nice banter between Ric and Lucas however and some nice sisterly stuff between Kit and Mattie.

Elsewhere, it's not so much the beginning of the end as the beginning of the end of the end for Amanda as she finally, irreversibly, makes the decision to leave the Bay.Peter's reaction is nicely handled and there's a brief moment with Dan.The scenes with Belle work well as they reflect on their relationship and how much they really care for each other. It's interesting too to see Irene, usually Amanda's arch-nemesis, doing her best to see things end well.
