Yes, this movie has a few changes, but watch them both and tell me this isn't Coyote County Loser (2009). Painfully so.
Now it's not like any movie is 100% original. There are tropes for a reason. But this goes beyond tropes into out right copying even dialogue and character for character and scene for seen in the same sequential order. They take a few different roads but they are like parallel on the freeway.
This goes beyond coincidence. Maybe CCL also copied something but I've never seen two movies so similar in my life.
Then again, it's low budget and quite a few years between the two, maybe nobody cares. Maybe it's even an homage to CCL. Doubtful given rare may be the person who knows them both. But I loved CCL and this is so copied I can't help but compare.
